Placing his hand on the boy's shoulder, Kiineq squeezes it firmly. [That's enough, Padawan!] The tone is warning, thought Kiineq is careful to keep his facial expression neutral.
"None of us are assuming anything" he says. "My Padawan merely pointed out that your description - or lack of same - was not exactly informative"
His hand is still resting on Shep's shoulder.
"But to answer one of your questions: Who you are might be more important than you think." Kiineq doesn't elaborate further.

"Well, well, well. Touchy little one, isn't he. Am I wrong to think, that it is frowned upon to be so touchy, when it's a Jedi at least?"
She places her own hand, that doesn't twitch with her bag, on her hip, now looking at Kiineq with a kind of arrogant look.
"I asked the question first, and what you answered was a retorical question. I am really no one in particular. Just ... curious to know, a little more about the Jedi. And ...." she glances shortly at Shep. "... also curious about the training methods. See," she clears her voice, again turning to Kiineq. "... I'm not the only one that's interested in knowing who the Jedi really are, behind those thick walls of yours."

Irritation burns inside Shep. He feels most like just punching this person in the face, but the disciplined part of him wins out. The Padawan takes half a step back in answer to Kiineq hands on his shoulder.
[Sorry, Master.] He sends through their bond.

"Then tell me why I should tell 'who the Jedi really are', as you put it, to someone who is unwilling to share more than a name" Kiineq says, fixing the woman with a penetrating stare.
He has not let go of Shep's shoulder, though as the boy steps back, Kiineq relaxes his grip. [Relax. Breathing] the Master sends to his apprentice, hoping to get him to calm down a bit more. He is definitely not impressed with Shep's reaction to the woman's taunts.

"For many reasons," Mijana says, while pondering on what to answer. "Oh well, I've actually already gotten the impression I needed on you both, so no need to keep secrets, are there?"
She finally opens her bag and withdraws in one quick move, a white datapad, that she places in her right arm, not moving her gaze from Kiineq.
"I'm a Holonet news reporter."

Shep takes deep breaths. His face stays completely neutral at the woman's revelation. [Gundark!] Shep sends trough the bond, but otherwise he stays passive. He consciously relaxes his muscles and lets his hands drop down, clasping them at the small of his back.

The woman's revelation only confirms what Kiineq was beginning to suspect.
At Shep's mental comment, Kiineq squeezes the Padawan's shoulder warningly, just hard enough for the boy to feel it, but gently enough for it not to be spotted by others.
"Why indeed" Kiineq says, his tone still polite.

"So," Mijana straightens up a bid, looking very happy with herself.
"Any comments on my previous question? Or will you, as most of your colleagues, ignore it? I should say that, if you don't," her smile crooks a little, but she still looks unpleasant. "I'll make my own conclusions. The Jedi are not as well seen at the moment, you know. Or haven't you been following the news?"

Shep knows well enough that the warning squeeze is deserved. [Sorry, Master] He sends trough their bond.
His face stays neutral and he does not react to what the holo news reporter has said. He knows that would most likely get him in more trouble with his Master right now.

"Oh, I have no doubt that you would" Kiineq replies, his tone still polite, though his Padawan might catch a hint of sarcasm in it.
"Perhaps I have and perhaps I have not. And perhaps I just know not always to trust what the Holonet says" he says politely, though still not really replying to the woman's questions.

The smile on Mijana's face disappears a little.
"I base my articles on facts ... well, most of the time at least," she laughs a little to herself. "I make observations and get the facts I need, from what I observe. That's more than what most of my colleagues do."
Her tone is cold, as well as the look she sends Kiineq.

Shep shifts part of his concentration from the gundark'a conversation with his Master to take in his surroundings instead.

"You will find that many of the truths and facts we cling to, depend greatly on our own point of view" Kiineq points out. Even though the woman's tone has turned cold, the Master keeps his tone calm and polite.
He has let go of Shep's shoulder and has once again crossed his arms.

"Could that possibly be a Jedi philosophy that I am hearing?" Mijana laughs a little again.
"Well, you are maybe right. But I write my articles from facts I learn or observe and that's the truth in MY point of view. And many people that also read them. Instead of others who assume something and write what they think, which leads to that one hair turns into five banthas."
She to, cross her arms, and looks at the other with a stern cold look.
"So, do you have response to my question or not?"

Shep misses the comforting hand on his shoulder, but he does his best not to let his Master know. He does not want to disturb his Master.

"Not so much a Jedi philosophy as a general idea." Kiineq says, his tone still polite as he meets the woman's cold glance calmly and holds it.
The Master still keeps half a mind on his Padawan. It's hard to say if he notices Shep's feelings or not, though he probably does.
"And what do you expect me to say then?" Kiineq asks. His tone has not changed. "That every single Jedi will live up to the glittering image the Holonet has painted of us?" He is still holding the woman's glance.

"Is that so?" Mijana ponders on that for a while, but then answers Kiineq's question.
"At least some sort of response would be nice. See," she clears her throat dramatically, looking very arrogant. "apparently people look up to you. Don't ask me why, I'm not here to judge your fan group. But ..." her smile broadens again a little. "... seeing as, unfortunately you are in a bad light at the moment, because of those bantha's that have been spreaded across the galaxy, your liability has been weakened." She tilts her head a little, looking at both Shep and Kiineq. "They want a response to the rumours that has been going around."

"How do you make that out?" Shep asks. "How does the fact that some people say bad things about the Jedi make us bad people? I'm sorry, but I really don't follow your reasoning."

Kiineq sends his Padawan a quick, sideways glace, before looking back at the woman.
He doesn't reply yet, but once again waits to see what the woman will reply to the boy.

"Well isn't that a proof of the little "general idea" you just mentioned." Mijana even makes the air quotes, with a hearty laugh.
"It could also be "from a certain point of view" as you said. But in my experience, and I've watched several jedi's doing "their work" (again with the air quotes), and let me tell you. It's not as impressive as you might think your "talents" is. And there are others thar think the same. There has been quite many responses to the rumours about that Jedi, Mian, or what ever his name was, that returned from Jandoon, without his legs. A lot of them were calling you Jedi ... well, let's say it as you did, boy: as bad people."

Shep looks at the Gundark in confusion, though his face and body language is completely neutral.
[What is she talking about? I know Gundarks aren't known for their brains, but come on!] He sends to Kiineq.

[That will do!] Kiineq's tone is firm and holds more than a hint of warning. He lets his disapproval with the boy shine through to the boy.
"What rumors are you referring to, exactly?" Kiineq asks. His tone is still polite, though he might find the woman a bit annoying.

Mijana sighs deeply, a little tired about the fact that they apparently don't have a clue to what she's talking about. She opens her datapad and looks down the screen on the several files that's saved on it. And finally finds what she's looking for. "I'm talking about this piece, more than anything else." She hands the datapad to Kiineq, as the holovid starts. ((To save the space read this thread swawakening.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=holonet&action=display&thread=178 )) She looks questioningly at both of them, as the vid comes to an end. "I never liked that woman, who did that story. But she comes up with some interesting points."

As if created by the crowd around them, another figure suddenly emerges.
Coeur Ismeth casts a short look at the group, before walking closer, her dark robe floating around her like a wave. "You." She nods at Master Tiran.

"Greetings, Master Ismeth" he says with a small, polite nod.

Mijana raises an eyebrow, as she looks at the newcomer.
How interesting. A second Master. She also notes the little unusual way that Coeur greets the two other Jedi.
She crosses her arms across her chest, looking interested at both Masters.

Shep cannot help, but smile a little when Master Ismeth shows up. Finally something the Gundark cannot possibly be prepared for. He stays passive knowing that this is not the time to interfere.

If Coeur notices the holoreporter, she ignores her completely along with Master Tiran's Padawan. Her amber eyes are fixed on the other Master, and she looks angry. Not furious, just a sort of.... controlled... angry. But it could be furious. How knows?
"Where HAVE you been??!!" she almost yells at Master Tiran. "You better explain yourself right now!! I've been worried sick for weeks!! You didn't even leave a note!!!"

Kiineq's eyebrow almost disappears as it shoots upwards at Coeur's comment.
"You didn't see it? I'm certain I left a note for you with Master Chapaa'ai" he responds, his face and voice completely grave.
