Kiineq calmly regards the man, his face betraying no emotion at all.
The tall man holds his lightsaber loosely and pointed downwards.
He doesn't reply to the taunt, but simply stands there, waiting, partly wanting to see how his Padawan will react.

Shep raises an eyebrow at the taint, do the guy really expect them to react to that? He relaxes his shoulders, but without decreasing his alertness and waits for what ever happens next.

Seeing that his taunt has no effect, Kad charges again. Once again he goes after Shep. Striking at his side while at the same time moving around him, Kad tries to keep Shep between him and Kiineq. Fighting both of the Jedi at the same time can only yield one outcome and that is an outcome Kad would rather avoid.

As Kad moves, Kiineq moves too. He doesn't go around Shep, as one might think he would. Instead, he leaps up in a Force-assisted jump and flips over both Shep and Kad. He lands right behind Kad, striking at the bounty hunter's back.

Shep moves to keep his lightsabre between himself and their attackers blade. Stepping back half a step as Kiineq jumps.

In his mind, Kad curses the Jedi. Realizing what Kiineq is trying to do, Kad quickly disengages from Shep and spins out of the way. Unfortunately, he isn’t fast enough. As Kiineq’s blade comes slashing down it graces his shoulder plate. His beskar’gam protects him from losing most of his arm but as the lightsaber bounces off it manages to scorch not only his armour but his jumpsuit and his skin beneath.
Ignoring the pain, Kad immediately turns the evasive manoeuvre into an attack. Completing his spin he strikes at Kiineq’s side.

Kiineq moves quickly to block Kad's attack. The green lightsaber sizzles through the air as the Jedi brings it down to intercept the strike.

Having backed up to give Kiineq room Shep now takes a step forward and swings his lightsabre in a low arch, designed to hit their attackers knees.

Just as Kad's blade is intercepted by Kiineq's, he notices that Shep is going for his knees. Kad disengages Kiineq and jumps backward to avoid the padawan's attack. Fighting both of them at the same time is suicide. He slowly starts walking backward, bringing his sword to a defensive position and again trying to lure the Jedi into attacking.

Kiineq follows Kad, matching his slow pace perfectly. However, the tall man doesn't attack.

Shep follows as well, but not directly next to Kiineq. He chooses to try to get around their attacker, so they can hit him from both sides at the same time.

Kad sees that the padawan is trying to flank him. He alters his path slightly, trying to keep both of them were he can see them. A few paces later, Kad realizes that he is literally running out of ground to give up. Just behind him, the small square ends in a breathtakingly deep abyss. Deep below, the city of Coruscant continues for what seems like forever. The sky-walk is somewhere to his side but an attempt to run for it would no doubt be futile. With both of the Jedi in front of him, he is trapped.

Kiineq stops and calmly regards Kad.
"Why are you trying to kill us?" the Jedi Master asks, his tone more curious than demanding. However, his entire posture says that he expects an answer. He keeps his lightsaber ready, but pointed downwards and slightly to one side.

"I'll tell you just before I end your life, Jedi"
He almost spits out the word Jedi as if it burns his mouth. He will not fold the contract and he will succeed in killing the Jedi.
"But not today, no. But soon, I promise you."
He holsters his sword to make the two Jedi believe that the danger is over. However, with a quick movement of his hand he produces a grenade from his belt. It activates with a small menacing whine. Smiling inside his helmet, he drops it. The grenade falls in front of him, but before it hits the ground, Kad moves again. He bends his knees and lets himself fall backward before using his feet to propel himself away from the ledge. With the wind gushing around him, he falls down the chasm. The grenade, lying where he stood mere seconds ago, explodes with a deafening roar.

Kiineq reacts the moment Kad drops the grenade. With a strong Force push, he sends Shep flying out of the way.
At the same time, he throws himself sideways and flat on the ground.
The fragments from the exploding grenade flies everywhere. Kiineq is lifted up by the shockwave and hits the ground, hard. A lot of splinters from the grenade hits him...

Shep is thrown back by Kiineq's Force push and manages to turn in the air to hit the ground sideways, but he still hits the ground hard. Unfortunately he is not thrown far enough away to avoid being hit by the shrapnel from the grenade.

Falling quickly, Kad is far too busy to notice the explosion above him. He locates his blaster in its holster. He has some difficulty in pulling the blaster but he manages to retrieve it, along with his grappling line. Firing it in a horizontal angle, it magnetically connects with a commercial sign somewhat reminiscent of the one he shot down earlier. He swings himself down onto a loading platform. Just before swinging past it, he disconnects the grappling line and falls down onto the hard metal floor. Skidding across the docking area he manages to slow himself down before tumbling into a stack of boxes.
His whole body aches as he pulls himself up and runs off into the dark streets of Coruscant.
((And he's out))

Kiineq is lying face-down and is not moving. His head is turned to one side, but is partly covered by his long hair.
A patch of red is beginning to appear on the side of his tunic, which is scorched and torn where the pieces of shrapnel hit.

Shep lies still for a moment trying to catch his breath, which the fall knocked out of him. As he lies there he starts to notice parts of his body that hurts and discovers that he has been hit by shrapnel in several places. Suddenly he realises that he does not know what has happened to his Master and Kiineq was a lot closer to the grenade than he was.
"Master?" Shep calls out as he gets up to have a look around.

There is no reply. All that can be heard is the eerie silence of the deserted plaza.
Shep might notice that Kiineq's lightsaber is lying a couple of meters away from him.

Shep is confused by the lack of reply but spots both Kiineq and his lightsabre on the ground and heads that way, picking up the lightsabre before crouching down next to his Master.
"Master?" He says again, while checking to see if Kiineq is breathing and has a pulse.

Kiineq is still breathing and there is a pulse. He lets out a small groan/hiss when Shep touches him, but that is all the reaction there is.
The red patch on his tunic is getting larger and there is a small trail of blood from his hair and over his forehead. Whether the wound is from the impact with the ground or from a stray piece of shrapnel is difficult to say.

Shep relaxes a bit when he knows that Kiineq is breathing and have a pulse, but the blood and the Masters lack of response is not good. Shep starts to carefully check the wound that is hidden by the tunic, not sure if it is from shrapnel damage or something else. Unfortunately he does not carry scissors in his belt and trying to cut the tunic away is not an option he wants to start with. Instead he carefully finds the wound to see what he can do to stem the bleeding.

Kiineq groans and starts to roll over when Shep starts to examine the wound in his side. He doesn't fully regain consciousness though.
As Shep examines the wound, he will find that a large piece of shrapnel has embedded itself deeply in it.

"Sith!" Shep mumbles when Kiineq starts to move and grabs hold of him, to keep him from turning over. "You are not doing that!" He tells the unconscious Kiineq. He has located the shrapnel piece and are now considering how to make sure it stays were it is until Kiineq is back at the Temple.
He considers the content of his belt pouches but there is nothing there that will be a help in fixating the shrapnel piece, but maybe the obi can do the job?

Kiineq stops turning when Shep grabs him and drifts back into unconsciousness.
Shep might notice the smaller, red patches on the front of Kiineq's tunic too...
The wound in his side is still bleeding. A lot.

Shep breath more easily when Kiineq lies still again. Then he reaches under the Jedi Master to unfasten the belt, it's not what on would call easy, but he manages. Once he has the belt of opening the obi is a bit easier. He then pulls the tabs free from the obi and starts to carefully move the obi towards the wound. All this takes several long minutes, but he does not have a choice if he goes faster he might dislodge the shrapnel from the wound and turning Kiineq over could have the same result.

Kiineq lies still now, but his breathing has become a little more ragged.
He appears to be drifting from unconscious to almost conscious and back again, grunting every now and again as Shep works.

Shep is mumbling to himself as he works. Mostly just nothings mixed with a few curses and insults directed at Kiineq, their attacker and the universe in general. Finally he has the obi over the wound. He carefully bind it as tight as he can get it to stop the blood flow from the wound. Then he turn to Kiineq's head and starts to look at the wound there.
