Name: Tanné Jupal
Race: Human, female
Age: 30 standard years
Homeplanet: Naboo
Height: 1,80 m
Weight: 70 kg
Languages: Basic, Huttese, understands a little Ryll
Appearance:
Miss Tanné Jupal is easy to spot, if you have met her once and know what to look for. She is quite tall for a Naboonese woman and has waistlong, dark silver hair held in a thick braid, controlling it and making it look a little shorter. Her skin is suntanned from the suns of many planets, she has visited through her service as a commando.
Not to forget are the eyes. They are brown with stains of amber. Do you expect to see just a little hint of warmth in her eyes, you'll get very disappointed. Unless she's really mad, but then you'd better flee for your life, if you are the responsible for her rage. You suddenly reconsider, IF glares really CAN kill, once you have looked her in the eyes.
Tanné has beautiful features, but they seem to have frozen a long time ago. Should you take a closer look, perhaps you will be able to see the scars from pain, sorrow and suffering, showing on Tanné's face. She has taken a lot of beating from life, even in such a young age.
To get close to Tanné is like flying through an asteroide field. You can slip through all the traps and dangers, but even if you do succeed in slipping through, there is always the danger of being hit by a meteore square in your face. Yup, Tanné doesn't want people to get too close.
Tanné only masters a real smile on rare occasions. Besides the cruel, bloodthirsty, half-psychopathic smile, whenever she is about to kill something (or someone??).
Through her military training she has been taught to keep all emotions locked away behind her shield of ice. But her more uncontrollable emotions, like her bad temper, don't want to be locked away forever. Which can cause her a lot of trouble.
Tanné is a little broader across the shoulders than her sister, but she keeps herself in shape by working out twice a day. Her figure still seems slender, but don't judge the Ewok by its fur. Tanné is stronger, than she appears. But her strenght in combat is her knowledge of martial arts and her speed.
On her left shoulder she has three slashmarks, burned into her flesh. Tanné aggressively refuses any attempt to talk about them. She both hates and loves the slash marks, just like the tatoo on her right arm. A serial-number: 15254-118-1200.
Other characteristics abot Tanné are her piercing through her left eyebrow, her one ear ring – a silver sun -, a leather strap around her neck and a silver ring on her right ring finger. The ring in particular is a very sensitive subject to bring up, just like her tatoo and burning marks.
When in duty, Tanné carries a dark green Republic uniform, black gloves, a simple belt for weapons and black boots with flat heels. That is her dress uniform.
Out in the field she wears on all-black jumpsuit with a camouflage tunic over. Her boots are typical military, and she keeps weapons hidden in them – as many as possible. On her back she carries her most precious possesion: A sniper rifle.
Her civilian clothes changes a lot, depending on weather, occasion or mood. Tanné can wear a dress, but that doesn't happen very often.
Against all laws and regulations Tanné has a serious abuse of the drug neutron pixie. She has been stitching herself between her toes for years, hiding the needle marks effectively.
Strengths:
Tanné is very creative when creating new weapons. In her hand, anything can turn into a deadly weapon. She has been trained as a sniper – and has become a damned good one. Besides shooting people are her passions martial arts and swimming.
When Tanné chooses to do so, she can be an incredably charming young woman – another advantage of the Jupal-family.
Though a privilige reserved for the Jedi, Tanné has been trained in the ways of the Force. Not enough to make her a Jedi – not even a novice. But she can – for her own personal use – lift things. And throw them, if she wants to. But nothing more since her training was interrupted.
Weaknesses:
Tanné doesn't seem to be afraid of anything, but in fact she is scared to death of hospitals, doctors and... syringes. Especially the last. When it comes to do the sticking herself, she has no problems. Then she is in control. But to rely on some creepy doctor to stick a needle in her – that's crossing her line.
Tanné has a drug problem, not an alkohol-problem. She doesn't drink, unless she's invited to. When drinking with her soldier mates, she can get really drunk, though, and wake up with the worst hangovers – and sometimes in the wrong bed.
Whereever she is, even on duty, Tanné smokes.
Personality:
The Jupals are known as either politicians or diplomats. Discuss or negotiate. Tanné does neither. Unlike her sister she jumped of the university path. Which has affected her ever since. There is not much left of the polite, well brought up Naboonesian girl, she was 15 years ago.
All that remains in her now is bitterness. Bitterness against the galaxy around her, against everything and everyone – only a few ecxeptions. Her urge to speak her mind has caused her a lot of trouble through the years, and her bad temper is not helping her at all. But Tanné has chosen to live impulsively and takes the full consequenses of her choices. She doesn't lack of courage, but sometimes her surrounding tends to question, whether she has a deathwish or just is a little TOO reckless. The answer to that question is only known to Tanné herself.
Tanné lacks greatly of patience, and she is more stubborn than an old female Bantha. She can show another softer side of herself, but mostly it drowns in her bitterness. Where Aeré reacts through words, Tanné reacts through violence.
Through her service as a commando Tanné has developed a black, sarcastic humour. She finds better company among other commandos than the society her older sister is prefering.
Should somebody ever think of sending Tanné to a psykologist, she would be judged as completely insain or a little psychopathic and lock her up in a hospital for mentally ill for the rest of her life.
Tanné is strong in the Force and is very well aware of this matter.
Background:
Tanné was born in Theed on Naboo. Her parents were advisors in the royal court and was wellknown representatives of their planet on Coruscant. Tanné has one older sister, Aeré, and two younger sisters.
When she was born, her parents were visited by a Jedi, who offered them to take Tanné away to be a Jedi. Her parents declined, just like they had done years earlier, when Aeré was born. They wanted to keep their girls at home.
Tanné grew up, and when she was 12, she decided to follow the footsteps of her parents and study diplomacy on Theed's university, like Aeré did.
Unlike Aeré, Tanné was a dreamer as a child. She loved to be told fairy tales of evil Sith Lords and courageous Jedi Knights, and she secretly hoped to meet a Jedi one day.
Her wish came true years later. In a way she had never imagined.
On her way back home from a scholar program on Coruscant the university's shuttle was attacked and commandeered by pirates. They killed the Naboonesian crew and kidnapped the group of students on board, including Tanné herself. Then they blew up the shuttle to trick any rescue team into believing that all on board had been killed.
When Tanné saw the shuttle, which should have brought her home, turn into space dust, it put an end to her dreamy childhood and her life as a diplomat's daughter. She was 16 then. To the pirates she was nothing more but a slave – a very pretty one, indeed, with a special hair colour – but until they had found her a buyer – and a prize – she was forced to do the same work on board as all the other slaves.
Tanné was bought weeks later. By a Dark Side Renegade of the Jedi Order.
All too soon she found out that there was a life worse than life as a slave on board a pirate cruiser. And that was the life on board her new owner's ship, Dark Passion.
She had a serial number burned into her arm by her owner himself. The slaves had no explosive device operated into their body. Their owner could easily sense their whereabouts.
Dark Passion was always in motion, escaping the Republic and the Jedi Order, but sometimes they docked at space ports. It was during those visits that most slaves tried to run away. But they were always caught – and punished. After being a slave on Dark Passion for about two weeks, Tanné saw her Master suck out the life of a young woman, who had tried to escape the ship. He had grapped around the back of her neck and kissed her, using the Dark Side of the Force to drain her for life. After he had finished, he just threw her away, like the empty shell of an eaten fruit. Luckily Tanné managed to make her way into an empty corridor, where she could throw up.
It wasn't the last execution, she would witness.
Her Master could grap a random slave to drain any time. Once it was the girl working next to Tanné. She was ordered to throw the body into the garbage shaft.
As time passed by, she became convinced that she would die onboard Dark Passion, far away from her family and her home.
Tanné was her Master's private slave. It was her job to clean up his cabin, wash his clothes, make his food... what ever he could think of. If she didn't do, as she was ordered to, she was punished with one of his draining kisses. Not enough to kill her, though.
She tried to escape three times. The third time he burned the three slash marks into her shoulder. She never attempted to run away again.
But as time passed by on board Dark Passion, Tanné began to notice a change in her Master's behaviour. Once when he drained her after she made a mistake, she felt a slight hint of warmth in his kiss. She thought then that she was losing her mind. Her Master was cold.
She didn't intend to fall in love with the monster helding her captive. But she did. And her feelings were returned.
She saw her Master murder innocent slaves every day with no sign of mercy or regret. But towards her he was a different man. The first time she saw him smile at her, she was convinced that she had to be hallucinating.
However, her doubt disappeared, as he grapped her to give her another draining kiss. That just didn't happen. She felt warm, soft lips pressing against her mouth, and she wasn't late to put her arms around him and return the kiss. Though she expected to be drained of life any moment.
But she wasn't. Instead her Master told her his name. Not some terrifying Darth-name, like in fairy tales or ghost stories. His real birth name: Evan. He was the one to tell her about the Force – and train her in using it.
But their time together was short, in spite of their newfound feelings for each other. One day, Dark Passion was found and attacked by a group of Jedi Knights.
They killed Evan and 'rescued' Tanné, who was brought back home to Naboo. Dark Passion – a place of darkness – was blown to pieces.
Her parents were thrilled to have their daughter back, whom they had thought long dead. Her sisters were just as happy. The whole city of Theed rejoiced over the rescue of a young, innocent girl from the hands of a Dark Side Renegade. Through the celebrating no one heard the heartbroken, devastated crying from Tanné's room. No one – except her older sister, Aeré.
From that day Tanné was a stranger among her own people, even her family. She felt nothing but cold towards her parents, who thought that she should move on and leave the horrible experience to the past.
But Tanné didn't want to move on. She hated the Jedi for murdering Evan. Her university studies she never returned to. They were no matter to her anymore.
Instead she joined the Republic Navy and quickly became a part of a tough band of commandos. She doesn't have any contact with her family on Naboo. Aeré is still a big part of her life, though, as the only one to understand the pain of her loss.
Her good behaviour and dreamy spirit is gone, as if sucked out by one of Evan's draining kisses.
