The old speeder limps down the dusty road, past the harvested, bare fields, past the old forest at the root of the mountain. The fog is coming down from the top of the mountains, covering the whole landscape in a blue, dusty blankett.
"Almost home, Teal..." Davvi pads the dog beside her and scratches it behind its ears. "Almost home. That wasn't so bad, was it??"
The dog barks once and licks her hand.
Davvi smiles broadly and turns her head to look at the road ahead, leading to the farm. ".... I'm just a poor wayfaring stranger....." she sings silently. An old song her father had taught her long ago. Teal begins to howl, as if he wants to join her song.
"All right, I'm not THAT bad!!" Davvi slaps the dog gently over the head.
The speeder once again manages to limp into the small barn beside the homestead. Teal jumps off the moment, Davvi kills the engine. Sam had replaced the old stabilisor, but she will have to buy a whole new speeder next season. Maybe.
Davvi takes a look around, her eyes seeking the far mountain tops where she can hear the wolves, Teal's relatives, howling their evening song. Teal strokes his head against her hand to remind her of his presence. "Oh... sorry about that. Just let my mind wander off..." Davvi pads the dog and locks herself into the house. ".. hope the generator hasn't died on us again, huh??"
She locks the door behind her and turns on the light, before she takes off her jacket and walks into the kitchen with the goods, she got from the market. Teal lies down in front of the fire place, waiting for her to finish supper and light the fire to warm up the house again.
Davvi comes out of the kitchen again to light the fire place, still singing lowly. "I wish, I wish my love had died... And sent his soul to wander free..... Then we might meet where ravens fly... Let our poor body rest in peace..."

"Well, hello my dear" A tall figure steps out from the shadows. How he has gotten into the house is not exactly clear. But he's here...
"I'm sure you wont mind me staying for supper?"

Teal lifts his head in a sudden jerk, as the intruder emerges out of the shadows. How the dog has failed to catch the scent of a stranger in the house, is unknown. He shows all his white, sharp teeth, growling aggressively at the stranger, before he moves to Davvi's side.
Davvi stops in her tracks and jumps back a few steps. "Who are you??" She hopes that she manages to keep her voice calm. Strangers are a rare sight out here in the valley - and an even more rare sight that one of them should be found in her own living room. Not that he seems to be any threat to her, but you never know.... "How did you get in here??"
Teal, on the other hand, has decided that this stranger should leave - at once. The dog begins to bark violently.

Varuun laughs shortly. A laughter indicating that he might not be a nice person. At all.
"I'm afraid you'll find a window in your bedroom is...broken..." He bares his teeth in a smile.
"So how about that supper?"

Davvi steps further back, placing a hand on Teal's head and strokes him gently. The dog barks furiously at the intruder, but she doesn't want him to attack. Not yet, that is. She left her blaster rifle in the kitchen behind her. But some people only need an angry dog to scare them away. She looks sternly at the stranger, burrying her fingers in the fur on Teal's back. "Get out of my house."

"Now, sweetheart, I'm sure we were just discussing supper, weren't we?" Varuun takes a step forward.
"No need to get all hostile, you think?"

"I'm not your sweetheart." Davvi steps back, as he steps forward. "And I don't like intruders in my home. You will leave, or I will release my dog." She tightens her grib in Teal's fur. Teal continues to bark at the intruder, baring all his teeth in a growl. He remains standing half in front of Davvi to protect her.

Varuuns looks at her. Then he laughs. Once. Then again. In fact, it seems he can't stop laughing. When he finally pulls himself together, he looks at her with an amused look in his eyes.
"Why, do release your dog if you believe that will do you any good. I strongly suggest you don't, though"

A hint of insecurity shows in Davvi's eyes, and she takes a couple of steps back. "Why?" she asks. Teal growls. A sound from deep down his throat. She has never heard him growl that way before. Her hand squeezes the fur in the back of his neck. "Stay," she mumbles to him.

"Why?" Varuun looks at her, still amused.
"Well, because I might have to kill your dog, if you release him. And I have this strange feeling you wouldn't like that..."

"Don't touch him." Davvi's voice has gotten a sharp edge. Mostly from the fear she is feeling creeping up her spine by his words. Teal is her best friend. More a human being than a dog in her eyes. She grabs further hold of his fur to keep him by her side, though it is difficult. Teal has decided that the intruder is a threat to her. A threat that must be removed.

"Well well well...if he's a kind dog, then nothing will happen to him. I'm just a guest of yours, right?" Varuun smiles darkly.
"Now, if you wont offer me supper, how about a drink?"

Teal jumps foreward to bury his teeth in the intruder's leg, but Davvi manages to catch him and pull him back, away from the man. She throws both her arms around the dog, shaking her head. "No, Teal, please.... Just stay, okay? Nothing will happen to me."
She looks up at the intruder again, before she nods slowly.

"Great, a drink is always nice, don't you think sweetheart?" Varuun smiles viciously.
"I don't think I ever caught your name"

Davvi is not nervous anymore. She is scared. Really scared. She can't remember the last time, she felt this scared. Then she realises that she has NEVER been this scared before in her life.
"D-... Davvi." She bites her lip hard to keep her voice from shaking. "Davvi Zynnar."

"What a nice name, sweetheart" Varuun smiles, but there is nothing warm or friendly about his smile. Not even close.
"And what kind of drink will you be offering me?"

Davvi gets to her feet again, padding Teal on the head. "You stay there," she says to him, before looking at the stranger. She is scared, but not enough to keep her from thinking straight. "Don't call me sweetheart," she repeats herself, before she answers his question. "Corellian whiskey. That's all I have."

"Ah, simple, but nice" Varuun nods, approvingly.
"Lucky for you, I actually like Corellian Whisky, darling" He winks.

"Don't call me..." Davvi falls silent, realising how hopeless her objections are. He doesn't seem like the kind of person who would stop calling her these names, just because she told him to. "I'll get you a glass then." She steps towards the kitchen door, pulling Teal with him. She is not leaving him alone with that man. Not even for a minute.

It seems she wont have to worry about that - because Varuun simply follows her through the door and into the kitchen.
"You seem a little tense, cutey. Something wrong?"

"No," Davvi answers and quickly shakes her head. "I'm just not used to strangers in my home." That's putting it lightly... Teal growls at the stranger and tries to break free of Davvi's grib to hopefully get a chance of biting his foot off.

"Aw, it seems your dog doesn't like me" Varuun looks down at the dog briefly.
"Or maybe it's just not well trained?"

"He's trained well enough," Davvi answers sharply and looks at the stranger. "He has been in my family, ever since he was born! He just doesn't like strangers!"
Teal growls, but he takes a few steps back, when Davvi pulls in the fur on his bag.

"Aw, but have you ever met a nicer stranger than me?" Varuun bares his teeth in a grin, well aware that will only make the dog more angry.

Davvi pushes the dog back in the kitchen, away from the stranger. "I don't know you that well, so I wouldn't know," she answers.

"Well, I'm as nice a man can be, darling" Varuun doesn't look particularly nice though.
"Now, where's that Whisky?"

Davvi looks down at Teal, meeting the dog's teal eyes. "You. Stay. Understood?"
Teal looks at his owner for a long time. Longer than a normal dog would meet his Master's eyes. Then he lies down on the kitchen floor and stops growling. But he keeps an eye on the stranger.
Davvi straightens up and walks to one of the cupboards to find a glass. Her hand closing around the glass is shaking a bit from holding the firm grib in Teal's fur.

Davvi keeps her eyes focused on the glass, when she retrieves a bottle from another cupboard. She doesn't drink herself, but her father liked Corellian whisky now and then. When he died, she kept the bottle for some unknown reason. Whether her choice has turned out to be bad or good luck, she doesn't know. She pours whisky into the glass and turns to the stranger again, holding it out towards him. "Sorry for keeping you waiting, then."

"yeah, where are you manners, sweetheart? Letting a man wait for his drink like that. tsk tsk" Varuun shakes his head disapprovingly.
