Leyla smiles warmly.
"Well, I do my best."
The doors open again. Leyla starts to walk again, but waiting for Thea outside the lift.
"You are close to that age, where you can be chosen, so before you know it, it will be your turn to become a Padawan."

Thea follows Leyla out of the turbolift. She smiles up at her teacher.
"I hope so, Master. I'm eager to learn more."

"Everyone is eager to learn. And when it's about the Force, there's always something new to learn."
She turns a corner, and opens a door to the training hall.
"Here we are."

Thea smiles, walking into the training hall. Her mood has improved dramatically since Leyla arrived in her room. She turns back to look at Leyla. "I'm ready."

"Great."
Leyla enters the room and closes the door behind her.
"What we need you to focus on, is reaching out with the Force and sense what the attacker is going to do next."
She walks past Thea and towards a closet in the far end of the room, opening it and looking for something.
She returns, with a helmet in her hands, where the visor is covered by a piece of fabric, that would deminish the wearers vision. She walks up to Thea again.
"Which is why, I have this for you. Ones vision can deceive you and if you focus on using the Force more in defence, then your fear will also be deminished. And it will help you use your body more, to avoid the lasers and the blade on the training saber."

Thea nods uncertainly. "Ok."
She puts on the helmet and tries to clear her mind and open herself to the Force.
Finding her center she says, "I think I'm ready."

Leyla smiles. "Good."
She turns and reaches her hand out, reaching out with the Force and grabs two of the training sabers, landing in her hand.
"Here." She hands one of the sabers to Thea. "Don't worry."

Thea takes the training saber from Leyla and switches it on. She reaches out with the Force to explore what was in the room around her. She nods to Leyla to let her know she is ready.

Leyla nods.
"Now, don't be nervous about what happens now. This is just a test, as to see, how you are handling a situation like this."
She takes a few steps back, turning on her own training saber, but instead of handling the sword in her hands, she lifts the saber with the Force, keeping it ignited.
"I have a training saber of my own, so we're equal in that sense and you don't need to worry about getting hurt. Focus your feelings and sense in what direction, I lead the saber. First, without trying to hit the opposing saber."
To start with, Leyla uses the Force, swirling it around Thea, not near enough, to hit the young girl.

Thea nods and takes a deep breath, closing her eyes inside the helmet and clearing her mind. She can hear the faint hum of the blades, but can't distinguish between them. She reaches out with the Force trying to sense the other saber, the way a blind person would use thier hands to feel for danger ahead of them walking in an unfamiliar room. She thinks she feels something to her right and turns towards it, holding her saber in a ready position but not attempting to make contact with the other weapon. However just as she thinks she is facing it, she loses it and feels something to her left instead. She turns back but is uncertain and waivers a little.

Leyla slows the speed of the lightsaber's continued twirling around Thea.
"Try to close the sound of your own saber, out of your mind. Your hearing sense can sometimes be a powerful assit."
She's very focused on handling the saber, but she also observes how Thea moves around.

Thea slows down for a moment, focusing a little more on the difference between the sounds. Her own blade sounding higher, closer, the other was lower, as if the sound was fading out a bit from the distance. She tries to focus on the lower sound and meld it with the sensation she was getting through the Force. She turns more assuredly to her left slowly tracking the sensation and the sound in a circle - or at least what felt like a circle to her. "I think I know where it is!"

"You are doing very well, Thea." Leyla smiles and makes the sword stop it's movements around Thea, hanging in midair in front of her.
"Now comes the hard part. The lightsaber moves slower than a laser, which should give you a benefit, in this test. But still be watchful. I won't try to hit you, but you should still see this, as if it's a real duel. And you don't need to fear harming me. I use the Force, so it will not come to that. Just focus and let the Force guide you, as to where the opposing blade is going, and defend yourself. Understood?"

Thea smiles at the complement. She nods. "I think so." She takes a deep breath and adjusts her grip on the lightsaber nervously.

Leyla nods, and lifts her hand. It had been a while, since she had trained in duelling like this, but it was good, in helping Thea.
She swings her arm in one quick movement, making the flying saber fly over Thea's head going downwards, close by Thea's back.

Thea spins around as she senses the saber go behind her and stumbles back a couple of steps before getting her own saber under it and knocking it away.

Leyla smiles, as she makes the sword get out of the block and moves it back to the front side of Thea, towards her left side.

Thea spins again back towards the other saber, swinging her own out as far away from herself as she can. She hesitates a moment, worried that she will get her own blade too close to herself again and awkwardly pulls her hands in towards herself and up to block the other saber with her blade now extending straight out away from her.

Thea's saber doesn't directly hit Leyla's but touches it. Leyla moves the saber away, so that Thea won't get hurt. She doesn't tell her, what she should have done, but continues in stead.
She swings her arm, making the sword aim for Thea's right leg. Still keeping the safe distance.

Thea awkwardly drops her hand down to her side turning her wrist slightly to drop the tip of her blade into an angle towards the floor. But she keeps her hand close to her body to insure the blade stayed away.

Thea's blade successfully makes contact with Leyla's.
"Good. But remember, it is of course important to be careful, but not too careful. Trust you what your feelings is telling you."
As she has finished her sentence, she makes the sword return back upwards flying next to Thea's head on the left side,

Thea smiles slightly at Leyla's complement. But at the same time her concentration slips. She is startled by the lightsaber coming close to her face. She jumps back and pulls her own saber up to block, but comes a little too close and catches her cheek with the end of her hilt.

Leyla swings her arm, and makes the saber, fly back in her hand as she sees, that Thea hits her face.
She steps closer to Thea.
"Are you all right?"

Thea lowers her saber and rubs her cheek briefly.
"Yeah, I think so. It doesn't feel like it will do more than bruise."
She looks up at Leyla a little embarrassed by her slip.

"We can stop for today, if you don't want to train anymore. It's not an official class, so it will be all right."

Thea shakes her head. "I don't want to give up. I know I can do it, I just don't know how." Her cheek still stings a bit but she ignores it, more frustrated with herself for the mistake.

"Calm yourself. You don't need to get frustrated about this."
Leyla takes a deep breath, as she thinks it through. One thing comes to her mind.
"Take the helmet off again." She lays her own training saber on the floor next to her, and extracting her real lightsaber from it's place in her belt. She looks at the hilt for a moment, before turning it on. The violet blade comes to life for the first time in a long time.
"Try to hold this." She holds out her hand, with the lightsaber in it, to indicate for Thea to take it. "Don't wield it, just try to hold it."

Thea takes off the helmet and sets it aside confused. She watches Leyla curiously as she gets out her real lightsaber. She isn't quite sure what to think about being allowed to hold it but she takes it carefully with both hands. It seems heavier than she expected and alive, humming with strength. Thea looks up at Leyla quizically, lost for words.

Leyla smiles.
"Now, close your eyes and reach out with the Force. Try to sense the focusing crystal inside the hilt. It is that crystal, that makes every lightsaber unique. You will be able to feel a kind of energy from the crystal, that can not be found in a normal training saber."

Thea closes her eyes and reaches out with the Force. There is a humming sensation that she has never felt before. She tentatively feels it, sensing the power and energy throbbing through the crystal. It is as if the crystal is emitting a pure tone, something she could hone in on and concentrate on. Thea smiles just a little bit. "I can feel it, its there right in front of me."
