It is quite early in the morning, there is not that many Senators here yet.
A blue skinned woman is making her way through the mazes of corridors. Her long, black hair is hanging loosely down her back and she is wearing a light and flowing, layered, long dress with wide sleeves.
The Wrooninan Senator smiles politely to everyone she meets.

Just further down the corridor, a male human is busy examining the screen of a small data-pad. He is dressed casually, a bronze west covering his white shirt and his dark brown hair still wet from this morning's shower.
With his back towards the approaching senator, Eamon Cadriaan is reading through some newly updated directives from his superiors back home. Lately, he has been working overtime just to keep up and this morning he was up before 05:30 to stand by for this very update he is working his way through.

((Do they know each other?))
"Good morning, Senator" Naide greets her collegue. "You are here early" she says as she stops a few paces from him.

((Why not? )) Eamon turns around with a surprised look on his face. His datapad had completely engrossed his attention, preventing him from taking a notice of the Wroonian senator. His expression changing, he smiles politely at the senator. He had seen her somewhere before. "Oh good morning..." He looks puzzled for just a moment. Last weeks negotiations with the Corellians? No not there. It must be from the Rimma Trade Route Council. Yes, he remembered. The Rimma Trade Route, running past Wroona, intersects at Giju, connecting the trade route to the Giju Run and thereby the Tapani Sector. That's where I remember her from, we're on the same trading lane!"... Senator Ziol right?"

Naide nods and smiles. "Indeed it is" she answers.

His smile grows just a bit wider, probably because he was able to remember her name correctly. "Yes, yes I am up early. But so are you it seems. I'm afraid my excuse is work."

"Well, I am a morning person." the blue woman says. "And I really like the quiet before everyone gets here."
She smiles. A warm, radiant smile. "And mornings are great for work"

((Is your thread before or after the assassination of the chancellor?))
Eamon nods approvingly. "Very true." He glances down on the datapad. "But I guess it depends on what kind of work it is." He shrugs slightly. "It has been some busy days lately."

((It's after))
"Of course it does. I take it yours is not of the pleasant kind, then?" she asks.

He shakes his head dismissively with a tired expression on his face. "Ever since the terrible business with our late chancellor, things have been stirring back home. Almost hourly updates, papers summing up countless meetings..." his voice trails off and he looks at her, his smile slowly fading. "And then all the unanswered questions..."

"Ah, I see. I don't think any of us have been unaffected by that horrible event. Neither personally, nor professionally." A shadow of sadness passes over Naide's face.

"And it makes you wonder as well, right?" Eamon continues. "I mean, how the assassin get in here anyway? What were the senate guards doing?"
|
|
|
Post by Naide Ziol on Nov 8, 2010 21:35:43 GMT 1
"Yes, it does. Though I can't imagine it being entirely the guards' fault." Naide shakes her head a little. "After all, a blaster is only so good against a lightsaber. I'm sure that all the guards present did all they could - to say otherwise would be an insult to those who fell in the attempt to defend our Chancellor."

"Indeed it would and may those poor souls find peace." He's quiet for a moment, as if paying his respect to the victims of the tragedy. "It's still a frightening thought though. How he or she even got in."

Naide nods slowly in agreement.
"Well, getting in to the Senate is not exactly the most challenging task. But that they managed to get as far as they did, that is something to worry about. And yes, it is very frightening."

"From what I've heard it was something of a chase out of here." Again he falls silent for a moment and when he speaks again his tone is more dark. "And it seems I'm not the only one hearing rumors about that lightsaber. That's a Jedi weapon... It certainly suggest that there is something more at play here than a simply bounty hunter."

Naide looks questioningly at Eamon. "You haven't heard? It was the work of the Fallen Jedi." she says.

His eyes widen slightly and a chilling sensation creeps down his spine. He had thought the Fallen to be nothing more than a few disgruntled Jedi who would soon be reconciled back into the Order. If they indeed are to blame for this atrocious act, then they are not just more powerful than he expected, they are more dangerous as well. He will need this confirmed somehow and then have it relayed back to his superiors. If the don't already know then they are in for quite a surprise. "No, I haven't. That is most disturbing I must say. The situation at Jandoon is far more serious than I imagined."

The blue woman nods.
"It is very serious. The Fallen have become way too bold for my liking."
Her yellow eyes clearly shows her worry.
"I mean, if they can do this, then what is their limit?"

"And how can anyone feel safe in these times?" Eamon says, adding his own question to that of the Wroonian senator. One thing is certain. When Eamon woke up this morning, he never imagined that his day would bring so many unanswered questions, nor this feeling of uncertainty walking the halls of the senate. He has a blaster on his ship. Perhaps it will prove useful sometime. He can expect a lot more work as well. Since the chancellors assassination, the things he has to do has increased exponentially and one can only imagine what will happen when his next report mentions Fallen Jedi as the most likely assailants.
"Do you know the general feeling about this? I mean, it certainly leaves me feeling a bit uneasy."

Naide sighs quietly. "Everyone I have spoken to, is shocked of course. And generally a bit scared. But also determined to do whatever they can to solve the conflict."

"Whatever they can to solve the conflict? Yes, I can imagine. We need to stop this from happening again. To stop the conflict from spilling out into the galaxy." We need to contain it somehow. Eamon raises his left hand and scratches his chin, soft from the morning shave. "I agree. The Republic has stood for so long and what kind of diplomats would we be if we couldn't handle this in some way."

"You are right, of course" Naide replies. "But I think that the situation calls for more than the ordinary kind of diplomacy. This isn't a mere trade dispute, that can be solved by words and sanctions alone"

"You are right. This situation do call for something extraordinary." Eamon doesn't know what but he'll be sure to ask his superiors. "But it is difficult to say what exactly we can do. It's not just the group or the planet. This runs deeper. " He looks puzzled for a moment. "There is that pirate organization as well. Those supporting the Fallen."

Naide nods slowly, clearly thinking hard.
"Yes. The name of the group escapes me for the moment. But perhaps that would be a place to start. Cut off their supplies."
|
|
|

Eamon nods. "If we can prevent supplies from reaching Jandoon, they will be left with only the most basic equipment and food. But then again, nothing will prevent the Fallen from increasing their attacks. It would be foolish to think that they do not have spies here on Coruscant." It seems that just mentioning it makes it true and Eamon looks around warily. "Have we even any knowledge about where the assassin went after he fled from the senate? Perhaps he's still here."
|
|
|

"True. And I doubt it would take them long to find new supply routes, but it might slow them down."
Naide shudders at the thought of the Fallen Jedi still being there. "I don't know really. That might be a question for the Jedi. From what I head, they had quite the chase after them."

An idea quickly forms in Eamons head. Something to remember later. "Yes I guess it is. " He clasps his hands together in front of him. "But I guess I've taken enough of your time Senator." He smiles and adds; "And I hope you will help me deal with this situation should need be."

Naide smiles and inclines her head at the other Senator. "Of course. I will be happy to offer any assistance I can." Naide replies, before adding: "And I do believe it's both our job and our obligation to help where we can."
With another smile, she starts walking again. "Good day to you, Senator Cadriaan"
