There's a firm knock on the door to the new Chancellor's office

Rasha'qol is sitting behind his desk, in the middle of realizing how much work it is to be Newly Elected Chancellor. He barely looks up as the knock on the door sounds. "Come in, please." He answers politely, putting away a datapad. As the person enters, the twi'lek is already looking at the door.

Atir Reteeks smiles widely as she enters the room. She's dressed in a high red dress suit with a skirt, high heels in the same colour, and lipstick that matches completely. Her nails are also painted in a red colour, and she's wearing her platinum hair in an elegant updo style.
"Hello Mr. Chancellor"

"Mrs. Reteeks, welcome. Please, have a seat." He nods at a chair in front of the desk, giving her a slight smile. He is clad in loose trousers and a sleeveless blouse, leaving his strong shoulders and arms bare. Around his waist is a sash, and he wears a long, sleeveless coat, decorated with twi'lek symbols. Everything is kept earthy sand, yellow and reddish brown tones

Atir smiles widely as she sits down in her chair, looking at Rasha''qol in what she hopes to be most charming
"Oh, you are most kind, mr. Chancellor, most kind"

Rasha'qol nods slightly, taking no notice of the human woman's attempt at charming him. Behind her, at the door, stands two twi'lek bodyguards. More is likely somewhere close, but out of sight. "You are here for the interview, I assume? Is there anything you need before we start?"

"No no, I have everything I need, thank you so much" She smiles widely, taking forth a datapad and something resembling a small microphone
"Would you mind if I recorded the interview, Mr. Chancellor?"

"No, I do not mind, Mrs. Reteeks. Feel free to do so." He folds his hands in front of him.

"Thank you so much" Atir smiles widely, then looks at Rasha'qol
"Should we get the important things narrowed down first? How do I spell that interesting name of yours?"

Rasha'qol looks at her, not a muscle in his face moving. Then he takes a small piece of paper, sliding it across the table to her. It's a business card.
"Why don't you keep this. In case you need to spell my name again at some time."

"Oh, why thank you[/i Mr. Chancellor" Atir smiles most charmingly - she hopes.
"You are being most kind, sir"

Rasha'qol doesn't smile back, but then again he is not known for smiling a lot. "Yes, thank you, Mrs. Reteeks. Now, if we could get on to the interview? I am sure your day is a busy as mine."

"Oh yes, of course, of course" Atir smiles warmly
"First, I must of course thank you, Mr. Chancellor, for taking the time to see me. With you busy schedule, I imagine you could have just said 'no'. But as a true man of the Republic, you didn't. Did you see the title of Chancellor coming your way?"

"A vote of such scale is never predictable. I have many skilled colleagues, but I know the people made the right choice when they elected me their leader in these hard times."

"So, you consider yourself a better leader than the rest of the senators who might have been elected?"

"My opinion hardly matters. The voice of the people have spoken, and I trust in their judgement. It is now my duty to lead the Republic in this conflict, and I will do so tirelessly."

((Atir))
"So, do you already have a plan on how to lead the Republic on in these troubled times?"

"Yes, Mrs. Reteeks, I do. It is our prime priority to tighten our defences and work on security, as clearly neither of them are strong enough. I intend to include the Jedi in this, if they are willing to work with us."

"But you sound like you doubt that, Mr. Chancellor?" Atir tilts her head slightly, looking at the chancellor

"I cannot speak on their behalf. Though I see not why they should refuse to aid the Republic in this matter." He folds his hands on the table in front of him.

"Unless of course the Jedi aren't as good as they pretend to be?" Atir smiles kindly
"There has been lots of speculations regarding the Jedi lately - what is your oppinion on the matter?"

"What the jedi are capable of, and what they are not, they will have all the chance in the galaxy to prove now." he answers calmly.

"Well, I do think we all agree that the Jedi have lots of abilities - the question is whether they will use them for good or evil? What do you tnink?"

"I have yet to see any proof, that the Jedi should not be loyal to the Republic. They have worked with us faithfully in the past, and I see no reason to doubt them now."

((Jesus, why didn't you tell me it was my turn??))
"Not even after the horrible death of the late Chancellor?"

((Oops, guess I had forgotten it too D!))
"I see no sign that the Jedi Order had anything to do with the tragedy that happened. It was the work of outside terrorists: the real enemy we are facing in these dark times."

"So, you do believe that the Jedi and these...so called 'Fallen Jedi' are in no way associated with each other?"

"As I said, there has been no indication that these two groups should be involved with each other in any way."

"As the situation is now, I am very comfortable in trusting the Jedi Order's loyalty to the Republic."
