Eamon Cadriaan enters the Jedi temple medical facility. One of the Jedi said that he could find Padawan Sinn'da here somewhere but Eamon has no idea how she looks. As earlier he can't stop thinking that choosing a white shirt and bronze west this morning was a stroke of luck. The Jedi all look so poor, even though they are renounced warriors.
Walking down the corridor Eamon looks around.

Sinn'da is sitting on her hospital bed, still clad in a white dress. Pieces of metal and electronics lie on the bed in front of her. Sinn'da is so bored, that she has taken to thoroughly clean her lightsaber.

As Eamon spots a woman sitting in a hospital bed, he changes direction. There can't be that many injured twi-lek padawans so it has to be Sinn'da.
"Excuse me, Padawan Sinn'da?"

Sinn'da lifts her head with a jerk, hearing someone speaking her name. "Uh, yeah. That's me?" She does not recognize him, but any visitor is welcome.

"Allow me to introduce myself. I am Senator Eamon Cadriaan of the Republic Senate."
He bows slightly and continues.
"My apologies for disturbing you, but I was wondering if I could ask you a few questions concerning the Chancellor's death."

Sinn'da's eyes widen in surprise, as the senator introduces himself. "Senator? I, uh, yeah! No, I, don't apology, you are not disturbing," She looks around, a little befuddled, and her eyes fall on a chair. She uses the force to push it towards him, waving a hand at it to invite him to sit down. "Please, I'd love to help. Sir."

Eamon can't help but smile. That was a very handy trick. "Thank you." he says as he sits down on the chair. Pulling out a datapad he smiles almost apologetically. "For my superiors... Have had me running around all day looking for answers. Hopefully they will be satisfied soon enough."
He clears his throat and takes a quick look at the datapad, before turning his attention to Sinn'da. "I've read the official report but I was hoping you could help me in regards to the assailants."

"Right. I... I only saw one of them. The mirialan. What do you want to know?" Her left lek, the one still whole and unharmed, curls itself around Sinn'da's neck, not unlike a scarf.

Eamon doesn't realize why Sinn'da is admitted to the Jedi temple hospital before she curls a lek around her neck. It is painfully longer than the other. He doesn't know much about Twi'lek physiology, but it looks rather serious. His face changes into a sad expression.
"The report mentioned that you had been hurt pursuing the attacker but I didn't know... I'm terribly sorry for your loss."

Sinn'da presses her lips into a thin line, reaching up to touch her wounded lek where it is still flesh and blood. Perhaps Eamon can catch a glimpse of metal behind Sinn'da's back, from the prosthesis lek.
"I... I'll live. But thanks..." She nods slowly. The look on his face seems so sincere, it is oddly comforting.

Eamon doesn't know exactly why, but the fact that this young padawan is, ostensibly, going to be fine feels as a relief. "I'm pleased to hear that."
There is a moment of silence before Eamon shifts slightly in his chair and decides to proceed with his questioning.
"So... The one you saw. She was armed with a lightsaber like yours?"

"Uh, well, she had a single hilt, mine is a double bladed, and hers had a purple blade, so-..." Sinn'da stops herself from rambling on about lightsabers, what would a senator care for the color of a saber's blade? "But, ehh yeah, she had a lightsaber. Like a jedi." She nods slowly, biting her lower lip.

Eamon listens carefully. He knows nothing of these lightsabers or the different types but he hears every word. This whole investigation idea wasn't his in the first place but he is actually starting to find all of this very fascinating. It seems the more he learns, the more he feels like something bigger is at play and that what he is doing is, in fact, of the utmost importance.
"So she used the Jedi's favored weapon and succeeded in eluding not only the security forces but the Jedi pursuing her."
He places the datapad on his thighs and tilts his head slightly.
"I'm just asking the question on everybody's lips... Could this have been a Jedi? From the temple or perhaps one of the Fallen?"

Sinn'da looks at the senator, suddenly worried about how much she is supposed to say. "She wasn't a jedi. We jedi are protectors of peace. Not murderers or assassins." She frowns slightly. Did he think the jedi murdered the chancellor?? His accusations are like a slap in the face.
"I believe she was of the Fallen. She was not from the temple." The words leave her mouth before she has time to stop herself. Then again, why shouldn't she tell? If people suspect the jedi, then what good comes from keeping it a secret that it was the Fallen??

Eamon can tell that he has offended her.
"My apologies... I didn't mean to accuse anyone of anything."
He shifts slightly, knowing that he may make things worse in a moment. He doesn't like shooting back at Sinn'da. Surely, this is what he does for a living, so to speak, but she seems so innocent. She's just caught up in the middle of all this.
"But... I know the Jedi are the protectors of our proud Republic, but aren't the Fallen like the Jedi? They use the Force, they use lightsabers.... some of them used to be Jedi...."

"Soldiers and smugglers can use the same blasters, right? That doesn't make them the same. Not even if the smuggler was once a soldier." Sinn'da presses her lips hard together, and the muscles in her jaw clenches slightly, giving her a very stubborn look.

"But the Jedi are legendary warriors. A soldier deciding to be a smuggler is not necessarily bad, but a Jedi deciding to go rogue creates a very volatile situation. I'm not trying to accuse the Jedi of being a liability, I would gladly lay my life in your hands, but some Jedi decide to join the Fallen, and if the Fallen goes around killing people then isn't that a potential threat?"

Sidd'da frowns slightly. "Well... yeah, of course the Fallen are a threat. That is why we Jedi train so hard. We must learn to control our feelings and abilities, so we can protect the Republic, and not fall to the Dark Side." She narrows her eyes, not sure what to make of his words.

"Protecting the Republic against those who have fallen to the Dark Side, while ensuring that you do not end up joining them yourself."
He picks up his datapad and looks at it before continuing in a concerned tone.
"That must be very hard, and very stressful."
He looks back up at Sinn'da, his expression one of sadness or even pity.
"But Jedi aren't supposed to act on their emotions are they? I mean, you have to restrain yourself at all time. That's where those who join the Dark Side fails, isn't it?

"Well, that's why the Jedi only take young kids in. To make sure we learn to control our emotions as early as possible. So we don't fall." Her fingers pick up one of the clear, yellow crystals among the parts of her saber, turning it absently while she keeps her focus on the senator.

"Yes, I guess that would make sense. "
Eamon falls quiet for a moment while observing the crystal that the padawan is holding in her hand.
"Is that what makes your saber?"

Sinn'da shifts her eyes to the crystal, frowning slightly. "Yeah. Well, no, it's all these parts together." She runs her sky blue fingertips over the metal and wires and bits and pieces. "But the crystal focuses the energy. Gives me a saber in stead of a flashlight." She looks at the senator again, a slight mischievous smile on her lips.

Eamon can't help smiling back at Sinn'da, his voice full of fascination.
"Amazing."
Realizing he has gone off topic, he quickly clears his throat and looks at the datapad.
"So. As far as I'm informed it was quite a stroke of luck that Jedi, including yourself, were present in the Senate to pursue the assailants."

"You believe in luck?" She smiles slightly.
"I was out for a walk with Tianara -well, she's one of the other padawans- when we felt a disturbance in the Force. So we ran to the senate. We were among the first to get there,"

"Luck or not, it meant a great deal. I know the assailants were able to escape but your arrival on the scene probably saved the lives of many in the Senate Security."
He looks at his datapad once again.
"Do you think the Jedi are to have a more extensive presence in the Senate? Perhaps have some stationed there at all times?"

Sinn'da shrugs, waving a hand around at the surroundings. "I've been in here all the time since the attack. And people really don't take their time to run up here to tell a padawan what the great plans are."

Eamon can imagine how that must feel. However, right now he wants to know her opinion.
"But what do you think?"

Sinn'da licks her lips, hesitating for a moment.
"I... guess we should have done that already. We've known about the fallen for a long time and... and I can't stop thinking the Chancellor wouldn't be dead if we had done more,"

Eamon's first thought is to comfort Sinn'da and tell her that there was nothing that could have been done to prevent it. It really seems to upset her and that doesn't seem fair at all. She has done all she could to stop it, nearly to the point of losing her own life, and no one seems to show any appreciation for it. However, Eamon can't help but feel that she's got a point. The more he uncovers, the more it seems to him that the Jedi have underestimated the Fallen at the cost of the ordinary citizen's safety.
"If the Jedi have known about the Fallen for a long time, then why, do you suppose, haven't they done anything about it?"

Sinn'da frowns, looking down at her hands. "I don't think anyone expected them to be so bold. They were a distant threat, someone to stay clear of. I guess they got tired of waiting for the Republic to do something, and took the war to us..."
