Naitia enters the senate, with still some time to spare, before her meeting with the Chancellor.
She walks around the building, to take in the surroundings. It wasn't the first time she was there, but it was always good, to get a fresh view on things. But nothing really had changed much, since the last time she'd been there.
She walks towards the new Chancellor's office and knocks on the door, being on time, for the meeting. She waits patiently for a response of some sort.

Naitia is met by a broad shouldered twi'lek, and escorted to the chancellor's office. The twi'lek stays at the door with another twi'lek bodyguard, but apart from them, the chancellor is alone in his office. He is slowly walking back and forth in front of the impressive panorama view of the Coruscant skyline, apparently deep in thoughts. As Naitia enters, he turns to greet her.
"Lady Jedi. Welcome."

Naitia bows in deep respect for the new Chancellor, as a greeting.
"Chancellor Rasha'quol." She straightenes up again. "My name is Naitia La-Don. The Jedi-Council has assigned me, to be your new Jedi bodyguard."

Rasha'qol looks at her for a moment, no expression visible on his face. Only his lekku twist slightly.
"Indeed? A Jedi bodyguard? And what authority do the Jedi have to appoint my staff?"

Naitia takes a deep breath. "None. But looking back on what has happenned, the council believes it best, that Jedi protectors should be assigned to the senate and to the Chancellor as well."

"I see. There is reason in that, I agree, and I believe the Jedi mean well." Rasha'qol's tone is smooth and polite, but someone familiar with the way twi'leks use their lekku to speak and express emotions, might have gotten the feeling that the chancellor does not like taking orders from the Jedi like that.
"Tell me, Master La-Don, why does the Jedi not feel that my own staff of bodyguards are fit to protect me anymore?"

Naitia speaks in a calm and friendly tone.
"We do not doubt your staff's capabilities in protecting you, Chancellor. Your own arrangements with your staff should not change, if you don't want it to. I am here to assist the senate guard and your staff, not making any changes like that. It is merely as a safe precaution, should the Fallen attempt to something similar again."

"Ah, so you do have faith in my staff. That is reassuring. Just not faith enough, it seems." Rasha'qol nods, stroking his chin.
"I have no wish to go against the Jedi, so tell me, Master La-Don: what will this arrangement mean?"

"It's the Fallen we don't have any trust in, Chancellor. They have a habit of making surprise visits, and as I said, it's a precaution."
She straightenes a bid, before continuing. "The council wishes me, to escort you on every occasion and work with the senate guard."

"Ah, but trust is many things, Master La-Don. You trust my own bodyguards to be loyal to me, but you do not trust in their abilities to protect me. On many worlds, including Ryloth, it is considered an insult to doubt a person's ability to do their job." Rasha'qol gestures with one hand, as if to push the thought away.
"Perhaps they are indeed not as skilled as you, Master Jedi. All I advise you to do, is treat my staff with respect none the less. We twi'lek are a proud people, and some may take your words harder than you may have intended them."

Naitia bows again in respect, before talking.
"It was never my intend to insult you or your staff, Chancellor. My deepest appologies, if I did. It is a fact, that I don't know, what level of skills, your staff have, so it is not for me to say, if I am more skilled then they are, or they more than I."

"In that case, Master Jedi, I will look forward to seeing you work with them." Rasha'qol sends Naitia a kind, polite smile. "I believe it shall at least prove to be interesting."
