A night in the cantina

[Rykor]

The Rodian nods excessively, still rattling like an ommni box badly in need of some tuning, hoping the guard would get the hell out of there.

[Mara Jade]

The guard still looks slightly uncertain, not exactly sure what to do about the whole situation.

"So, none of you actually knows this Wookiee?"

[Rykor]

The Rodian shrugs, shaking his head less excessively.

[Toolog’Arruna]

"That's right".
She keeps looking at the guard, trying to avoid thinking about why the Rodian stopped her. If he doesn't know the wookiee, she concludes, the talk about the wookiee could most likely be a trick to drag her away from the crowded place and to a place where nobody would see what happened and nobody could help her.

[Mara Jade]

The guard nods slowly.

"Well, then, if you get any problems, don't hesitate to tell us. We're here to help, you know" He eyes the Rodian, then the Twi'lek before, leaving the cantina, looking around for any sign of his comrades.

After a few moments, all the guards have left the place.

[Rykor]

The Rodian sighs. "I thought we were stuck with that bantha-brain forever", he whispers in her ear, so she can really smell his cheap cologne mixed with natural Rodian body odor. He scans the room and spots an empty boot in a corner. "That looks okay" he whispers, "can I talk to you for ten minutes. I have an offer you can't refuse". He leans even closer and whispers gently "Lotsa money involved."

[Toolog’Arruna]

Dodge curses herself for the fact that she didn't ask the guard to get that ugly Rodian away from her. She takes a step away from him.
"Look, I don't know who you are or who you think I am, but I'm not interested in doing any kind of deals with a person like you". She lets her hands sink into her pockets and closes them softly around the knives.

[Rykor]

"Take it easy", the Rodian says "I know that you got something crazy in your pockets or something." He lowers his voice again "I don't know who you think I think you are, but lemme tell you what I think. From what I can see you have potential to make it big. Real big. And your Wook friend. I know what he's capable off. I have been following the news."

Then he shrugs "I had a business proposition in mind for you and the Wook, involving three times more creds than the bounty on his head. A real easy thing too. The could be the start of something big for you. Big enough for you to get rid of them slimy slave traders, I tell ya."

[Toolog’Arruna]

Dodge doesn't believe the Rodian. It's clearly shown in her face.
"Go and find the wookiee and we can talk about it all three together. And by the way - What makes you think that I'm a greedy little being without conscience?" She folds her arms over her chest - now with a little switsblade knife hidden in each hand.

[Rykor]

"Wouldya put those away" the Rodian says, "I've seen enough tricks like that". And with a sleazy-puzzled look, he says "Conscience... I don't really follow. Whaddaya mean?"

[Toolog’Arruna]

Dodge just ignores the Rodians comment on her knives. "You know what I mean... legally and clean work doesn't have Lotsa money involved" She do a pretty good imitation of his voice in the last three words.
"Now, go and find the wookiee or tell me right here, right now, in a clear voice so people around us will hear what you have to offer". Dodge's voice is firm and do not invite to discussion. Inside a nervous shiver runs down her spine.

[Rykor]

The Rodian clears his throat. "Alright," he says "I simply need someone with the skills and abilities that you and your Wookiee friend seem to have to escort some very valuable, and perfectly legal, cargo of mine back to Nal Hutta. That's all. Clean. Legal. Eh?"

[Toolog’Arruna]

Dodge looks suspicious at the Rodian. "Well.. if that's it, I'll be here tomorrow afternoon and find you and the wookiee. We can talk about it together then, okay?" She let her bright eyes take a close look at the Rodians face so she will be able to know him from other Rodians, in case he should be here tomorrow without the wookiee.

[Rykor]

The Rodian hesitates a bit: "Err... I was hoping you could find the Wook. If you can, I'll offer you both 15 thousand creds up front and a substantial amount when you've delivered the job."
Then a Rodian approximation of a smile appears on his face "Of course, if you'd rather do it alone, there's more money in it for you. Heh heh heh".

[Toolog’Arruna]

Dodge seems to consider the Rodians words. "Well... I've no idea where to look. What about we both start looking and meet here tomorrow?"
She tilts her head and tries once again to judge the Rodian - can he be trusted?

[Rykor]

The Rodian nods "Alright, that's a deal".

[Toolog’Arruna]

Dodge just nods back to the Rodian, puts her hands back into her pockets and walk around him. Now the course is straight to the door.

[Rykor]

The Rodian carefully watches her, as she circles around him.

[Toolog’Arruna]

Just as Dodge gets her back against the Rodian, she turns around quickly. Her arms are once again folded over her chest. She looks at the Rodian for a moment before she asks him in a low voice. "And how do I know you'r not some secret service guy on job to catch the wookiee and who wants me to lead him into a trap?"
She keeps looking at the Rodian. He don't really look like that kind of guy but you never know.

[Rykor]

"Because then I would probably have blasted the Wook when he barged out of the door," Rykor said in a firm voice.

[Toolog’Arruna]

"Oh". Her face and voice make it clear that she still doesn't trust him but she turns around and walks casually against the door.

[Rykor]

The Rodian just tilts his head and smiles at her.

[Toolog’Arruna]

Dodge leaves the cantina.

[Rykor]

Rykor watches her, as she leaves. And then leaves the cantina himself, his jewelry rattling like a rusty battledroid.
