Name: Dr. Mitker ”Shorty” Forg, The University of Aldera
Race: Rybet
Age: 38
Hair colour: None, has greenish skin with a hint of orange hue and is covered by a pattern of black spots
Eye colour: Yellow
Height: 1,3 m
Weight: 50 kg
Home planet: Ord Mantell, but considers Alderaan his home planet
Profession: Investigative journalist, professor of journalism
Appearance: Diminutive, even by Rybet standards, Mitker has earned the moniker ”Shorty”, which annoys him endlessly. Like all other Rybets, he has no hair whatsoever. His amphibian skin is orange-ish green with black spots. He prefers wearing practical clothes, with lots of pockets for his holo-camera, datapads, dicta-corder and so on.
Background: Mitker grew up in a disfunctional home – which is not unusual among Rybets. When he was a young tad, his mother beat his father to death because he annoyed her – this is not unusual among Rybets either. Given the genetic inclination for hate towards the opposite sex of the Rybets, it was only a matter of time before conflict arose between Mitker and his mother, who eventually threw out her son. After a couple of months in the streets, the young Rybet had earned enough money, through selling information, to buy a ticket offplanet. He ended up on Alderaan. Soon realizing that illegal trade of information was not as lucrative on Alderaan as on Ord Mantell, he decided to apply for a scholarship in Journalism and Media Studies at the University of Aldera. The Rybet pass the admissions test with excellence and started an academic career which eventually earned him a professorship in Journalism and Media Studies. The Rybet is involved in what many would consider shady business – namely, virastack news; he himself considers it a noble cause: passing on the unadulterated truth to the public. Having worked hard the last couple of years, Mitker is now happily free of teaching duty for the next two years, and ready to seek out the truth and relay it to the Galactic public.
Personality: While short, this Rybet is quite intelligent and as stubborn as a bantha. He has a natural talent for uncovering information, and sees it as his duty to expose the truth to the public. If he can't sell his stories to the media, he will include it in his monthly Aldera ViraNews Servive report... and when that happens, the story certainly will make it to the Galactic news afterwards. He is somewhat of an expert on communication technology and has written several monographs on holographic technology and is rather (in)famous for his controversial book on virastack journalism – The Truth is In There. Mitker is naturally quite articulate, and also typically a gentle character. He does, however, utterly hate Rybet females.
