Name: Ra’ya Mantol
Race: Human female
Age: 25
Height: 1.60m
Haircolour: Reddish brown
Eyecolour: Brandy brown.
Languages: Basic, huttese and shyriwook
Homeworld: Her home is her ship. Though, she grew up on Corellia
Profession: Smuggler with interest in hacking and mechanics.
Spacecraft: Ra’ya owns a small spacecraft of Corellian design, she’s named Fawsick.
Prefered weapon: Ra’ya prefers to deal with small weapons, so they’re easier to hide. She always carries two blasters; one in her belt, the other is in a hulster on her left wrist, not easy to detect.
Family: Her father was a Corellian diplomat, that ruined his own carreer, and is not as well seen in public as he used to. Her mother died shortly before Ra’ya left Corellia. And she has five older brothers who always did what they could to protect their younger sister. She has no contact with her family today.
Appearence:
Ra’ya is slim build and small in stature, but athletic. She trains regularly to keep in shape. She has a small, pale face, that is often covered with dirt.
Her clothing of choice, is a pair of loose pants, a blue tank top and a short jacket over it. She mostly wears black pants and jacket, so that the oil and dirt stain would not be as well detected.
She has long, redbrown hair, which she always think is too long, but can never find the time to get it cut. It is most of the time in a untidy braid or in a nod in the neck.
Her life with that many brothers did, that she didn’t get what some would call a woman’s upbringing. She doesn’t wear any makeup, and doesn’t care what other people think of her looks.
Personality:
On the outside, Ra’ya is a rather harsh person who lets no one get close to her. She lived quite a secured life on Corellia, which she hated and had her own ways of rebelling against it. She was heartbroken when her mother accidentally died, because of the actions of her father, and had had enough. She hated her father and his work and what he had done to her mother. After running away from home, she felt she really started her life, away from the world she’d known into a life of smuggling and crime.
She’s against the Republic and has only little towards Jedis. People can take care of them selves and they don’t need the protection of some wizards, who only makes matters worse. She’s only seen Jedis at a distance, but never met one. But won’t answer for the consequences, if she ever meets one.
She loves to fly around in the galaxy in her ship and only takes a job when needed to either as a smuggler or mechanic. She’s not a known smuggler, mostly because she prefers to keep a low profile and not make herself noticed, but trouble do sometimes seem to catch up with her.
She feels safe in space, which is why she’s never on a planet for too long a time. The cold loneliness of space makes her feel more safe than being in big crowds of different races and prefers as little contact with other smugglers as possible.
Background:
Ra'ya was born into a diplomatic family, as the youngest in a family of six children. Her mother, Myrka, didn’t work and she homeschooled her children. Ra’ya’s father, Wajley, was an old type kind of guy, who believed that the womans’ place was in the house, taking care of the family, which was why he insisted on Myrka staying home watching the family.
Myrka rarely let her daugter leave the house or its land. Both she and Wajley was very protective over her, because she was the youngest and their only daughter. Her brothers didn’t make it better for her, which caused that Ra’ya had difficulty in finding friends. She did have a close relationship with the youngest of her brothers, Uevan. Her only friend, besides her mother.
Ra’ya found ways to rebel against her family, though. She often sneaked out of the house and learned to know some of the toughest street gangs on Corellia, who taught her self defence and how to use weapons. This happened mostly at night, while her family slept. This took place in the course of five years, where Ra’ya became known to some of Corellia’s top criminals. Myrka knew, that her daughter weren’t in her bed sleeping most of the time, as the rest of the family did. She one night, saw her sneak out of the house, but didn’t say anything about it. She understood her daughters frustration about how she was being overprotected and not allowed to leave the house. So she sat by, and let Ra’ya live a kind of secret life.
Wajley was pressured enough, without knowing that Ra’ya was mendling with the people he tried to lock up. But as more time went, the more he ruined his own career, and he became more tense. And he often let it out on Myrka.
Ra’ya didn’t know anything, about what was going on between her parents. Besides training herself in battle, during the last years she spent on Corellia, she also learned everything there is to know about computers and machines. Her brother Uevan, helped her with the understanding of it.
Her life changed abruptly, when her father one night came home drunk, and once again he let his anger out on Myrka and it all went really wrong. She was pushed down a set of stairs and died on the spot. Without Wajley knowing, Ra’ya witnessed this and ran away for good that same night. She’s never since seen her family and does not wish to see them again.
She lived for a time on the streets of Corellia, but in the end sneaked aboard a transport vessel, off Corellia. In time, after working a lot, she was able to purchase a small spacecraft in Corellian design. Making her own changes to it, and designing her own security and computer system in it.
For the last ten years, she’s worked both as a smuggler and a mechanic. Only working when needed to, and out of the range of the Republic. Not wanting to have any part of it and not attatched to any organization either. She prefers to work alone on her own terms.
