Name: Jaymz Kirok, Republic (loosely) - former Jedi
Race: Human
Age: Early 30s
Hair colour: very long black hair
Eye colour: greyish green
Height: 1,80
Weight: 78 kg
Home planet: Unknown, but raised on Coruscant
Profession: Spacer, currently working for a Republic-aligned mercenary group. Former Jedi
Appearance: Normally built and typically wearing neutral-looking clothes, Kirok is far from an impressive sight in terms of physical appearance. He is normally unshaven and wears his long straight black hair in a pony-tail. His appearance certainly would not even hint at his Jedi past if it were not for his trusty old lightsaber, which he always carries, but virtually never uses. If anything, he looks like your average cargo hauling spacer, which suits him just fine.
Background: Having spent most of his life in the Jedi temple on Coruscant, Kirok never knew his parents. When, as a young child, confronting the Jedi Masters on the Jedi Council with questions of his origins, they were always hesitant to tell him, urging him to focus on the new and his Jedi training. He complied and developed into somewhat of a perfect Jedi paragon of virtue, but at the age of fifteen nightmarish visions of unkown, yet familiar places and locations and atrocious acts of terror and violence started haunting him, causing him to once again wonder about his past and origins. Knowing that asking the Council for guidance would be futile, he told his Master – an Inthorian Jedi known as Wrymew Fawarn – about the visions. The old Ithorian told Kirok that he feared this day would arrive but hoped it never would. When asked why, the old Jedi Master explained to Kirok that a group of Jedi found him in a hidden compartment of a ship, the rest of the crew and passenger dead, brutally slaughtered by some unknown group of assailants. The Ithorian then urged his apprentice to forget about the past and concentrate on his training. Kirok continued his training, but could not forget what his master had told him. Who were his parents, why were they attacked and by whom. As the years passed, Kirok immersed himself deeper and deeper into all sorts of speculations and questions and swore he would find the answers and, if possible, seek out whoever murdered his parents and avenge all those innocents aboard that ship. Finding that this was not in line with the Jedi Code, he decided to pack his things one night and leave the Jedi Temple in search of his past, leaving behind the Order, his Master, his friends, and Joleena, a female Human Jedi a couple of years younger than him with whom he had developed a secret romantic relationship.
He traveled the galaxy ever since in search of answers, taking whatever jobs he could get – most of them legitimate, some not, having gained much experience he would never have had, had he not left the Jedi Order. Nowadays, he works as a pilot for a small group of freelance mercenaries and bounty-hunters loosely affiliated with the Republic. A well-paid job that is not too dangerous, not for him at least. Not yet.
Personality: Kirok is generally a gentle and harmonious person, but, if need be, he can be mean and tough, even cruel if necessary, although he prefers peaceful solutions to intimidation and fighting. Under the surface, however, he is contantly wrestling with his unknown past, suffering from memories and visions of terrible events he has no conscious recollection of, and burning with the desire to punish whoever caused him to have those visions in the first place.
He enjoys the occasional game of Sabacc, although he is not very good at it, and has a weakness for Corellian Brandy and Corellian Whisky. He suffers from mild claustrophobia which may date back to his early childhood. Moreoever, he never forgave himself for leaving Joleena behind, and misses her every day.
While his connection with the Force now is a strong as ever, he has learned to rely on instinct, skill, and intellect rather than using the Force. While he always carries his lightsaber, he rarely uses it, preferring to talk his way out of trouble and trying to avoid pointless violence. If need be, he prefers his blaster or his fists to his lightsaber. In fact, he has come to look down upon Jedi a bit considering their reliance on the Force a weakness, given that so many other people around the Galaxy have to face hardships with no Force to help them, only hard work, experience and skills. While technically a fallen Jedi, he has no intention of getting involved in any Force-based organization, given that he does not consider himself a Jedi at all – just a guy with a lightsaber and some questions.
