Seth is thin, and always has been. Only regular meals and hard training keeps his weight at a normal state, though it is still easy to count his ribs, should you ever catch a glimpse of him without a shirt. He is stronger than he looks, as he prefers to wear normal clothes as trousers and a shirt, in stead of fancy, intimidating armor and tons of weapons, and could often pass for a normal civilian. Though his straight back and hard face does bring to mind a person used to military protocol.
His hair is dark and cut millimeters short. His eyes are hard and rarely shows any hint of emotion, and fits the rest of his expression. Actually, his body language is about as revealing as that of a closed durasteel door. His self-control would fit a Jedi Master, though his compassion may be lacking a bit for such a profession.
He is always dressed in clean clothes, and shaves and bathes every morning, but apart from that he doesn't care much for his looks.
His left eyebrow is cut with an old scar from a frag-grenade, and over his shoulder blades old marks still show where he was hit as a child to learn him to walk upright like a military man. He has other scars but has, yet, not taken any lasting injuries.
Personality:
Logic and creativity in battle is Seth's strongest skills. He is good at military tactics, and quick to come up with useful unexpected solutions, and has a way of guessing his opponents next move. This has nothing to do with the Force, as he is no more Force sensitive than the average population of the galaxy, he is just an intelligent and experienced soldier.
Seth is a polite and calm person when talking to people he is not close to, and rarely ever looses his temper when around anyone. He just mentally bites his teeth and pushes back his anger, remaining calm and in control of the situation. Truth is, though, his door has been fixed several times after being kicked a bit out of shape in a fit of suppressed anger. Fierce temper is a family trait Seth is trying hard to fight.
He is also something of a perfectionist. Always trying harder, always expecting too much of himself. Failure is not an option. If something is hard to do, it only makes him more stubborn and determined.
Background:
Seth was born on Coruscant. His father is from a fine family of republic officers, and it was always expected of Seth to follow in their footsteps. He had learned to recognize a number of fighters from each other before he could count to ten, and when other children played with teddy-banthas and bricks, he had toy blasters and miniature soldiers and -starships.
He has no siblings, as his mother almost died when giving birth to her son. The doctors warned her that another pregnancy would almost surely cost her her life, so despite of Seth's father's disappointment, they had no other children. Perhaps this is the reason for Seth's strict childhood. If his father could have only one son, then he would at least be a worthy one. Strong and fit for the Republic's Army.
Seth soon grew to be thin, almost fragile, and with a terrible health. He spent long periods of his youth in bed with a terrible fever.
His father was not pleased.
Seth made it into the academy none the less. Here, he fought hard to make his father proud. Whatever good grades he ever got, he always wanted them to be better, and struggled tirelessly to overcome his feeble health and physique.
The hard work payed off. Slowly, he turned from a fragile boy to a strong and skilled young man.
His mother passed away after several months of illness, when Seth was in his late teenage years. She had never been strong, but her death shocked her son deeply. She had been the warmth and comfort of the little family, and though Seth would never admit it he cared much more for her than for his strict and cold father. From then on the family was as good as split apart. Father was always away on missions for the Republic, and son was busy training to follow him. The apartment on Coruscant was now empty, and Seth has never set foot in his old home since he helped with the funeral preparations.
Seth was ranking Captain in the Republic army, when he decided to change course a bit. He had been sitting in pure paperwork for months without active duty, when he asked to be transferred.
From then on he has been working as a bodyguard, protecting politically important persons unable to defend themselves from their political enemies' assassins.
Lastly he has been assigned to protect the senator Aeré Jupal of Naboo. Whether she likes it or not.
Special abilities:
Seth is a skilled fighter, armed as well as unarmed, and a dangerous opponent. He has learned to use a wide variety of weapons, and if caught with empty hands he quickly improvises, using whatever is in the room.
He knows a little about explosives, though he usually prefers more subtle methods. He can fly standard vessels, as it was part op his training at the military academy, but you couldn't call him a real pilot.
As a bodyguard he has learned a lot about sneaking and moving around undetected, or simply standing in the background without drawing attention to himself. Which is quite useful, as he usually works for politicians and other socially important people.
