Name: Oshikal
Race: Cathar
Age: 26 years
Natural fur colour: Dark copper brown fur with lighter copper red stripes and mane
Eye colour: Yellow
Height: 1,87 metres
Weight: About 78 kg
Languages: Catharese, basic and a little huttese
Appearance:
Oshikal's natural fur colour is a reddish brown with a beautiful pattern in lighter red tiger stripes, and red mane. But now, all of it is dyed a deep silken black.
She is tall for her kind, and her body is slender and graceful with strong muscles under the short, soft fur. Her mane is thick, and grows from the top and back of her head, down her neck and even as far down as between the lower of her shoulder blades. Her face is sharp and feline with a short snout, and her eyes are yellow cat eyes.
Oshikal's ears are pierced and adorned with pearls in different colours, and from time to time she braids jewellery into her mane.
Her hands are strong with long fingers ending in short, razor sharp claws, and also her feet are clawed. She prefers not wearing boots, when the environment allows it, and she usually keeps her clothes simple: A long skirt or trousers and a dress long tunic, all in black. She carries a single lightsaber with a dark red blade, and a long knife, but when the situation allows it, she is happy to use her claws as weapons. He has a few pouches in her belt, in which she carries a few belongings she has gathered the last years.
Personality:
The cathar are known for their fierce temper and deep loyalty, and Oshikal is no exception. She knows where she belongs, and who has gained her trust. And who has not. She don't do well with chains and cages, and trying to force her to do something against her will can end in bloodshed. But if she trusts you, and you treat her with respect, you can get her to do a lot of things. She is a follower, and her ambitions lies with her skills in the Force and as a warrior, not with power.
Oshikal is not a heartless mass murderer, and she does not kill innocents just for the fun of it. To her, the hunt is a test of strength, cunning and skills, and there is no honour in slaughtering civilians. She has, however, come to despise weakness, and a soldier begging for mercy at her feet will likely be cut down as one unworthy of survival.
Background:
Oshikal has no memories of the time before she was a youngling. She doesn't know anything about her parents or home, but she remembers the Jedi treating her well and teaching her about the Force, herself and the whole universe. She considered them friends. Family. The ones she could trust.
She was eleven years old, and hoping to be chosen as a padawan by one of the Masters, when her life changed forever. She was captured on Coruscant and taken away from the Core Worlds to be sold as a slave. For a long time, she trusted the Jedi to come and rescue her. She kept calm, as she had been taught, and endured the hard life in slavery, working in the garden and plantations of a gangster boss' summer residence on a planet which's name she didn't even know.
The little cathar kitten grew up to be a beautiful woman, and she was taken from the garden to work within the great halls of the gangster's palace. With her soft, purring and growling voice she could not sing, but dancing was something her agile body took to naturally. Oshikal felt humiliated by the looks strange men sent her, but if she did not dance, she would be punished. The fear of her masters held Oshikal back, until one fateful day. The gangster's son was celebrating his birthday, and throwing a grand party. In his drunkenness, one of the guests found the furry slave a little too attractive, and his own basic needs a little too hard to control. Cathar mate for life, and Oshikal was so furious and disgusted by the man, that she ended up murdering him with her bare claws before he could violate her. She was put down ant thrown into a cage for her actions, but not before she had injured several guards in an attempt to escape. She was certain that she would be killed for what she had done, but the Force was with her that night, it seemed. Her master had enemies, but one seemed to be greater than he knew. A renegade Jedi came that night of the party, to wreak havoc upon everyone there. When he left, he took the one thing with him, that was useful to him: the enraged, Force sensitive cathar slave. She has been with him since then, turning her back on the Jedi who abandoned her so long ago. He trained her in the darker ways of the Force, and for the first time she built her own lightsaber, and began recalling the training sessions from when she was a youngling at the temple.
Their years together were short, though, as Oshikal's new master was killed in battle against two Jedi. Oshikal survived, wounded, after taking her revenge. Then she began roaming the galaxy on her own.
She returned, once, to her home planet Cathar, to go on the Blood Hunt. A ritual among cathar to gain honour and purge themselves of inner darkness. The Hunt did bring Oshikal some peace of mind, but it did not take away the darkness in her mind. Shortly after that she joined a group of Fallen Jedi on Jandoon.
