The sound of something big rolling fills the kitchen, which is already filled the wonderful smell of.... something.... digestable.
A little, chubby Sullustan appears from one of the doors into the kitchen, rolling a huge barrel in front of him, as he goes. His deep humming tunes of a Sullustan drinking song mixes with the sound of the heavy barrel scrambling over the floor.
Vidal finally stops at his 'working' table, placing the barrel beside it and wipes the sweat of his forehead. "Pheew..." he mumbles.
Then his face lightens up in a smile, as he turns to the table, and he starts chopping vegetables and meat with the speed of light. All while humming a bit, then singing so loud that it can possibly be heard in the upper levels of the ship.
... As I walked home from the inn that night as drunk as I could be I saw an angel... smiling just at me.... She was as fair as any a star and silver threads in her haaair!!! She gave me a kiss, she gave me two... I think... then disappear into the blue... I never saw that angel again, oh no... must have come from the mooooons of IEGOOOOOOOO!!!!!...
His knife strikes down, chopping a steak in half, and piercing itself to the table.

It is impossible to hear the little girl enter the kitchen. Her feet are bare, and hardly any sound is heard. And besides, Vidal is singing so loudly even a bantha would be hard to hear in the kitchen. In fact, A'Lyra might have been able to enter the kitchen unnoticed, had it not been for one thing - her lekku. The top of them are just visible above the tables in the kitchen, as she scouts around, trying to find something delicious to eat.

Thea watched down the hallway as her younger friend snuck into the kitchen. She had been looking all over for her, hoping that she would consent to helping her with training practice. Thea really wanted to learn but could not get the hang of even the most basic combat moves and she knew A'Lyra had the spunk to get her moving. Thea paused a moment then followed, maybe she could talk Vidal into giving her a snack. She entered carefully, looked around and deliberately moved away from the barely visible lekku yelling to the cook in order to be heard above his singing. "Mr. Penos, do you have anything small for me?" She smiled up at him, looking as innocent as possible and hoping to catch him in a good mood.

Vidal stops singing at once, first looking a little irritated by the interuption - then he sees the younling and lightens up in a big smile. "Why, where did you come from, my little friend?? Does Master Yoda teach you kids to be invisible, too??" Whoops!" He reaches down and picks the other Youngling in the kitchen, a Togruta. "Sith-sauce and Jedi-jelly!! This is a surprise! Two visitors all at once! And I didn't even get the chance to do the cleaning!" He puts A'Lyra down on the floor again and dries his hand in his shirt. "Now, how about I find my guests something to eat? It would be rude of me not to, wouldn't it??"

A'Lyra lights up in a big, charming smile.
"Oh, Vidal, I would really appreciate that, I'm starving and there's hours till dinner time!" She blinks at him, then tilts her head slightly.
"What's sith-sauce?" She looks at him thoughtfully "Not to mention Jedi Jelly? Is that when you've been practicing too hard? Sometimes my legs feel like Jelly then..."

Thea giggled at A'Lyra's questions, she was always amused by her friend's curiousity over small comments.
"Thank you, Mr. Penos. You are the best chef ever." She gave him her biggest smile, then glanced over at A'Lyra.
"When we finish our snack, would you mind helping me practice?"

Vidal bellows of laughter. "No, no... Sith-sauce and Jedi-jelly are special meals of mine... secret description, top secret indeed... Not even Master Yoda could get that out of me..."
He walks to a small cupboard in the far side of the room, near his own quarters next to the kitchen. He has no wish to sleep anywhere else. "Let's see..." He looks through the different glasses and jars in the cupboard, then finds a glass box with small, square pink cakes inside. Vidal looks back at the two girls, then nods. The Jedi Order doesn't know the power of sugar to the little ones. He walks back and hands the box to the two younglings. "You think, you can share? It's toffee bites from Naboo. Got them from some Captain travelling through..."

A'Lyra quickly snatches the glass out of Vidal's hands, and opens it. She sniffs curiously at the toffees.
"it smells good!" She puts the opening of the jar to her eye, closing the other one, and stares down at the pink bites.
"I don't think I've ever tasted things like this before" She picks out the biggest piece in the jar, and carefully puts it to her mouth, taking a small bite, while handing the glass to Thea.
Her eyes light up with delight.
"This is good!"

Thea smiled as A'Lyra inspected the treats. She found the younger girl amusing. Taking the box from her, Thea took the topmost square and set the box on the counter.
"Thank you Mr. Penos."
She popped the whole thing in her mouth and ate it happily.
"These are really wonderful."

"Glad you like it, glad you like it...." Vidal smiles friendly at the girls and walks to the counter, where he starts chopping the meat again with a haste only beaten by Master Yoda's light saber moves. "So, what are two young ladies doing on such a fine day?? Besides asking for a snack down here??"

A'Lyra shrugs, while fishing for another treat in the box. Stuffing her mouth, she looks at Vidal.
"No'hing 'eally. 'Ooking a bit for Ji'ev, can't find 'him today" She doesn't seem to mind the fact that she's talking with her mouth full.

Thea giggled a little taking another square. She paused to answer before popping it in her mouth.
"Well I was planning on getting some practice in and maybe finding someone to talk to and relax."

"Jibev??" Vidal looks around and suddenly discovers the piles (or mountains??) of dishes, pans, glasses and other things, just waiting to be done. The Sullustan chef grumpily mumbles something about 'a little, lazy furball', before he turns back to the girls again with a big smile.
"Nope, haven't seen him around!!" he answers. "But IF you two see him, would you tell him that the dishes are longing for his tender touch down in the kitchen??!!"

A'Lyra takes a look around in the kitchen, and shrugs.
"They do? How can you tell? I mean, I didn't even know dishes had feelings? Or maybe, they just hide them really well? Or maybe, only you can tell, because you spend so much time down here? Do you talk to you plates too, Vidal?"
A'Lyra looks at him with a big, innocent smile, and it's impossible to tell if she's making a joke, og actually being serious.

"Well, little Jedi..." Vidal lets out a chuckle from deep down in his belly. "If you someday should spend as long time in a kitchen, as I have, you'll hear the dishes talking to each other. And the fridges... yes, the whole room communicates to make the best possible food!"

A'Lyra tilts her head slightly, looking at Vidal in a confused manner.
"Are you serious, Vidal? I never heard anything like that, and though I might not have spend as much time down here as you have, I have spent quite some time here, because of Jibev, and I never, ever, heard a plate say anything. Really..."

Thea giggles, "I think he means that he has a sense for things in the kitchen, that he knows what is needed to make things perfect. Kinda like the Masters can read our thoughts and the situation to know what needs to be done. Right Mr. Penos?"

"Hrrphm...." Vidal coughs into his hand. "Yes, something like that. But still... if I were you.. I would listen very carefully the next time, you're down here." He laughs and pads the two little younglings on the head. "Of course, everything in here talk to each other. Through the Force... surely Master Yoda has told you about the Forcesensitive fridge, right??"

A'Lyra blinks several times, while studying Vidal.
"No, Vidal, I don't think Master Yoda ever mentioned anything like a force sensitive fridge! This is so exciting!" she looks around, searchingly.
"Where is it?"

Thea giggles into her hands. She guesses that Vidal is teasing them but wonders how long he can keep it up.
"Yes Mr Penos, which one is it?" She giggles again her eyes gleaming with amusement.

"He's right over here..." Vidal laughs and walks through the kitchen to the back wall, where the kitchen's fridges are placed.
He stops in front one of them and pads it gently on the 'belly'. "Girls, this is Trace. I named him after one of my good friends who was also a Jedi. A human, but still a good Jedi... awfully unlucky, it turned out. He always got himself into trouble... He left the Order one day, too, and got married to a intergalactic singer - and last I heard, he had adopted a couple of kids."
The Sullustan shakes his head. "I don't see him that much anymore, but I named this fridge after him, because he was cool as a..... fridge. Trace, can you say hello to the two ladies??"
The fridge keeps silent.
"Hm. I think, he's asleep," Vidal mumbles.

A'Lyra tilts her head slightly, looking from Vidal to the fridge and back again. She must admit, she's a bit skeptic of the story. She knocks one, two, three times on the door to the fridge.
"Hello Mr. Trace. Vidal says you're force sensitive and all, so I was just wondering, if you'd please answer him, so that I can see he's not just pulling my lekku" She grins a bit, suddenly realizing how stupid the whole thing is. A force sensitive fridge...

Vidal frowns. "Shy, huh??" He knocks heavily on the door of the fridge. "OI!! Trace!! Wake up!! At least you can say something to the girls!!"
The fridge keeps silent, but Vidal leans foreward. Then he shakes his head. "I'm sorry, honourable Ladies, but it would appear that Trace is not in a very talkative mood today."

A'Lyra leans closer to the fridge, tilting her head a bit.
"You know what, Vidal? I think you're making it up" Her eyes are alight with amusement, and her lekku twitch slightly.
"So...Trace has had a bad day, perhaps?"

"Well..." Vidal scratches the back of his neck. "I've just put Yoda in the dish washer for today. He got pretty dirty, making pancakes and all. That is my best pan, you know... Not the real.. Master Yoda... I don't think he would like that."

A'Lyra laughs out loud, her lekku twitching.
