A'Lyra nods.
"Wouldn't surprise me if they did...Astromechs are really smart, you know" She looks at the droid, sadly.
"I wish I could get it to work. That would be awsome. Actually, I don't think the Masters even know I have it here..."

Thea giggles.
"Yeah they are. Perhaps the Masters have told them to be suspicious of Younglings asking them to do something too, we could get in a lot of trouble with thier help." Her eyes glint mischeviously.
"I bet you could get it to work eventually, maybe the library has some information on them that you could use. I don't think anyone would question you there. But I would keep this hidden until you do, so they don't decide to take it!"

"Oh!" A''Lyra looks at Thea excitedly.
"I hadn't even considered the library...would you help me look one day maybe?"

"Sure!" Thea bounces excitedly. "It will be a fun project! We should start tomorrow, or at least sometime this week..."

"Oh!" A'Lyra grins widely, looking from the pipes to Thea and back again.
"Wow, right now, we have two projects! we're gonna be so busy"

Thea giggles. "Yeah we are! At least we won't get in too much trouble this way. We won't have time!"

A'Lyra tilts her head.
"But somehow, I'm sure some of the Masters would consider what we're doing trouble...Vidal would too, I think. Especially if we bring all those pipes into his kitchen"
She giggles a little at the thought

Thea considers A'Lyra's statement for a minute.
"Yea, they might, but then again if it keeps us busy and in one place then maybe they won't mind so much. Still we probably shouldn't be too loud about it. We don't want to draw too much attention to this until we are ready to go."

A'Lyra shakes her head slowly.
"No, you're right, we should be prepared before letting anyone know what we're up to. Or, we'll we might need Vidal's help to get started, but he wont say anything if we asked him not to. Don't you think so?"

Thea giggles. "I think he might like a little adventure and a secret mission to spice up his life here."

"You know, I hadn't thought of it that way..." A'Lyr looks thoughtful
"Do you think he'd be able to play too? I bet he could have played some kind of instrument before getting here..."

"He might. He is so interesting, and he's done so much. Who knows what secrets he is still hiding?" Thea ponders this for a second and smiles slyly as if she knew a joke no one else did.

A'Lyra jumps up on her bed, tilting her head at Thea.
"You know something I don't?"

Thea giggles. "Not really, I was picturing Vidal playing his tea kettle like a drum. I wonder if he ever does something like that when no one is around. He's in that kitchen alone a lot."

"I bet he does - I mean, he even names the stuff in the kitchen, and talks to the fridge and all" A'Lyra looks thoughtful.
"Maybe he's lonely?"

Thea sits carefully on the edge of the bed. "You know, he probably is. I mean on other ships he's been on there were a lot more adults so he could have spent time with them in the evenings - maybe played some sabaac or something. But here it is all kids and Jedi, and the Jedi will have more important things to do than sit and play games and we wouldn't be allowed to do so. He probably does get lonely here. Maybe we'll have to visit him more often!"

"You're right! We should!" A'Lyra lights up in a huge smile.
"Really, that's an extreemly good idea. We should make sure he's never lonely!"

Thea giggles. "We do have to remember classes though. Or the Masters will get very grumpy. But we should definitely make sure to stop in on him at least once a day - if not two or three times!"

"Yeah, though sometimes I'd rather spend time with Vidal than have classes..." A'Lyra grins.
"But I do wanna be a Jedi, so I have to study too..." She lights up in a big smile.
"We could visit him every morning before class, and every night before bed!"

Thea giggles. "Yeah, being a Jedi is definitely my goal, but it would be fun to visit Vidal a couple times a day. And maybe we'll end up with a lifelong friend. And maybe even learn something interesting."

"Oh, he's already taught us so much" A'Lyra lies down on her back on the bed, grinning.
"Really, I bet he could teach us anything, beside using the Force..."

"Yeah he probably could. I mean he's been to so many places and done so many things and met so many people! He must know almost as much about the universe as some of the Masters."
Thea leans back on her hands imagining the places Vidal has been.

"Maybe, he even knows more than the Masters. At least in some ways. I mean, seeing as he's not a Jedi, he's been able to do things, that Jedi are not allowed to, right?" Her lekku twitch slightly, as she ponders this.

Thea blinks a couple times... "Well yes I suppose he could. Its kind of strange to think of, someone who has never lived by the Code. I wonder what that would be like? We should ask him about it sometime."

"Yeah....like....like..." She frowns.
"He's been able to..." She shakes her head, seemingly unable to think of something Vidal could have been allowed to do, that Jedi are not.

Thea considers for a moment. "He would have grown up with just his parents, and maybe brothers or sisters, but not knowing that he was connected to all life. Or that people could use that connection. He would not have known the Force at all. I can't imagine what that would be like, not to feel that connection..."

"No, me neither..." A'Lyra tilts her head slightly, looking at Thea.
"I think...it must be weird....not being able to pick up feelings and moods from friends. Do you think not Force Sensitive people are more lonely?"

Thea pauses thinking. "I don't know, maybe. Or maybe they have figured out other ways of connecting with other people. It would certainly be different though. I don't know if I would like it."
She contemplates for another moment, "I suppose we could ask Vidal about that or Ji'bev - they would know after all. If they understand where we are coming from, that is."
|
|
|

"I think it's best to ask Vidal about that, really. I mean, Jibev would know too, but he always gets so shy when asked something personal, and I think he wouldn't know what to say, and then he'd get more shy because of that, and then he'd just get very embarrassed..." A'Lyra nods, knowingly.

Thea nodded, "Yeah you're right. Vidal never seems to mind us questioning him anyway. But this is probably a more delicate subject than most. I don't think too many people like being reminded that Jedi can read thier minds and feelings."
