"I know. From my sister." Tanné looks at him with a polite smile - with a little hint of predatory amusement in her brown eyes. "I tought her how to use a blaster. But she prefers to use words."

As they walk Eamon spots a turbolift and slowly changes direction. “Well in my opinion words are as powerful as any blaster but I can’t imagine how convenient it must be to have both a senator and a soldier in a family.. You know.. Best of both worlds” Reaching the turbolift he presses the button, summoning the lift to their level.

"Best of both worlds??" Tanné raises her eyebrows and laughs. "I think that my parents would disagree... and my sister as well. Unlike her I consider words in a time of struggling as useless." She stands beside him, waiting for the turbo elevator to reach their level. "You haven't by any chance received military training, Senator?"

Eamon folds his hands behind his back as he waits patiently for the elevator to arrive. “My father taught me how to handle myself in a fight.” He turns his head slightly looking at Tanné. “Back home we only resolve to violence if someone greatly dishonours you. Mostly we solve our problems the diplomatic way.”

"..' sounds like a Haven to my sister..." Tanné laughs shortly. "You only resolve to violence if dishonoured? Cute." She smiles politely at him again - maybe a little more amused this time. "So, you've ever been dishonoured?"

Eamon shakes his head. ”No luckily I have never found myself in that situation.” He turns to Tanné. “I presume that you have been in battle before. Haven’t you?”

"More than once." Tanné answers. "Where my sister chose a path of policy, I face an existence of endless battle.... 'suits me well." She smiles briefly at him to soften her words a bit. They could scare certain Senators - including her sister. "But that's putting it the dramatic way. I don't have much faith in diplomacy, that's all."

”Well we all choose different paths in our lives don’t we?” He smiles reassuringly at her, not seeming scared by her words in any way. He knows of war and the dread and misery that follows in its wake and deep within he can hardly see how anyone could enjoy that kind of life. “We are all different and that’s just good.” A slight beep from the tube in front of them indicates the arrival of a lift. The doors slide open and Eamon enters. “Top floor I presume?”

"Of course." Tanné nods and follows him. "Top floor it is." She turns towards him, after having entered the lift. "We are all different.." she thoughtfully repeats. "Well, it would be scarry, if the galaxy only contained diplomatics, wouldn't it? Or soldiers?"

((Sorry for the very long inactivity )) The elevator starts its ascension towards the upper levels of Coruscant and Eamons stomach somersaults. He never did enjoy these fast turbo-lifts. “I can’t even imagine such a place.” He stares out of the transparent turbo-lift door for a brief moment before turning his head slightly towards her. “So I take it that you’ve been to battle before... Being in the military an all”

Tanné nods, still smiling politely. "Yes, I have. More than once." Her smile becomes a little broader. "I enjoy a good fight. Just like you politicians enjoy a good debate."

Eamon smiles a bit uneasy. “I do enjoy a good debate. Don’t know about the fighting though.” The thought of Tanné and her sister being related and still so very different makes Eamon wonder how very convenient it really must be for both of them.

"That's why you're the Senator, and I'm the soldier." Tanné laughs shortly and shakes her head a bit, making her braid move from side to side. "Have you ever turned down a debate?"

“Turned down a debate?” Eamon seems to be thinking for a moment and then shakes his head. “No never... I guess that is mostly because you can say I debate for a living.” The turbo-lift slows down as it approaches the top floor. “I guess you could say that would be like if you ran away in the middle of a battle. As far as I know that would end in a court martial if you are caught. Desertion right?” He smiles reassuringly. “I wouldn’t be prosecuted though... Only risk my job. And I guess in private I don’t turn down a debate either.”

Tanné raises her eyebrows once again and looks at him. "You remind me of my sister... but I'd never thought that I would have so much in common with a politician." She laughs shortly. "Tell me... Have you ever debated against my sister?"

“No I haven’t. At least I’m quite sure I haven’t.” The turbo-lift stops and Eamon steps out into a large square. The senate hall is visible on the far side and somewhere behind it the sun is setting. “Actually I have never met your sister in person. I’ve only seen her a few times before.” He turns toward Tanné. “Anywhere you’re headed?”

"Well, the Senate is a large place." Tanné shrugs. The lift stops, and Tanné hears the Senator's question. "Not anywhere in particular, no." she answers. Except for the package in her jacket. But there is no rush.

Eamon looks across the plaza, toward the senate hall. It had been a long and tiring day. He probably needed a shower and it wouldn’t be long before his stomach started complaining. “Well I’m headed that way.” He says, nodding towards the senate. “I got more debates and paperwork waiting for me first thing in the morning.”

Tanné follows his nod towards the senate. Debates... paperwork... She would rather break her own arm than doing those things. "Don't you ever...." she frowns, searching for the right word, and looks back at him. "Get extremely bored?"

“Do I get bored?” Eamon smiles and shakes his head dismissively. “Actually I’m always quite delighted knowing that I serve my home planet and I’m also very proud to do what I do. I guess it must be like the feeling you get when you fight for what you believe in.”

"When I fight for what I believe in?" Tanné turns around to face him fully. She smiles weakly, nearly a movement of her lips. "That's a good one, Senator."

For at moment Eamon looks taken aback. He stares quizzically at Tanné and then looks like he has just remembered something forgotten. “Unless... Unless you’re just in it for the money.”

Tanné smiles bitterly. "You're not the first one to think that of me, Senator. Money has always been one of the best motivations when fighting in wars. But no," She shakes her head. "I'm not fighting for the money. I'm fighting just to feel alive."

Eamon nods thoughtfully. ”I see… Living all the time with the risk of being killed lurking behind you have been said to do something to people... But are you never afraid that you won’t live to see your family and friends again? I mean is your sister never afraid that she will lose you?”

For a person not used to read people's body language, Tanné is a closed book. But the Senator hit a sensitive subjekt to her, and that shows, if you know how to see it.
"I don't have that many friends," she answers, shrugging. "Never bothered to make any. And my sister and I barely talk to each other. So let's just say that I have nothing to worry about."

Eamon is silent for a moment while considering her words. He treads carefully. “I’m sorry I don’t mean to pry. How come you aren’t speaking to your sister? Please I know it is none of my business and I know that you probably don’t have a lot in common, but you’re still sisters...”
Eamon is having a hard time imagining how Tanné must feel. For him, and for every Tapani for that matter, family and heritage means everything.

"You're right, Senator." Tanné nods. "We don't have a lot in common. But I still talk to her - as long as I don't have to visit that building..." She nods towards the Senate. "Gives me the creeps. And since she is spending most of her time ther, doing whatever a Naboo Senator is doing, we don't talk that much."
She smiles and looks at him with her eyebrows raised. "Do you understand what I'm saying?"

Eamon looks towards the senate then back at Tanné. “If you don’t like the place why don’t you get your sister out here instead? Go out together.” All this personal talk concerning family matters is not something Eamon would normally speak to anyone about but Tanné doesn’t seem to mind him asking these questions.

Tanné raises her eyebrows. "Get her out here? Do you know my sister? Her entire life is about work. Besides she's as stubborn as I am. She wouldn't leave the Senate for a day, because I asked her to. She's devoted, I'll give her that."

“Yeah, I know the feeling. But you’re her sister and I’m sure she can find the time to see you. After all... You two are family.” After a brief moment of thinking he smiles and asks “Why don’t you come with me to the senate? Find your sister and see how she is doing?
