Kiineq comes around a corner and stops to look at his companion.
They are facing the choice of left, right or straight ahead.
"So, where are we going from here Shep?" he asks.
This is supposed to let the Padawan get some experience in being guided by the Force.

Shep looks at his Master for a moment before looking at each of the three possibilities. He half closes his eyes and a moment later points to the right. "That way."

Kiineq starts walking in the direction his Padawan indicates.
He doesn't give any hint as to whether it is the right way or not.
As he walks, he automatically scans the area both visually and with the Force for any signs of danger, taking in every detail. It's so ingrained in him, that it is almost a subconscious habit.

Shep follows his Master, also on the lookout for anything and everything.

The street turns into a skywalk, leading them to a small plaza.
There is not a living being in sight anywhere.
Kiineq stops as he reaches the middle of the plaza, looking at Shep though he is still completely aware of his surroundings.

Shep stops along side Kiineg and turns around to get a look at all the sides of the plaza, while trying to decide where to go next.

Kiineq keeps quiet, calmly waiting for his apprentice to make a decision.

Shep turns around one more time before finally pointing to the left side of the plaza from where they entered it. "That way." He says. There is a small gab between to buildings, leading to another walkway.

Behind the two Jedi, a figure crosses the skywalk. Moving quickly and surprisingly silent for a man in full body armour, Kad keeps his distance to his targets. After receiving details regarding the two Jedi from his Anzat employer Kad has learned that they had both left Corellia and are now here on Coruscant. This has presented further difficulties as Kad now risks having thousand of witnesses to the deed. However, this is Coruscant so perhaps it won't be a problem after all.
He keeps a careful watch over the two Jedi. The images provided were mediocre at best, so he can't be sure that these two really are Master Tiran and Padawan Azoras. He's quite sure though and has already begun working out a strategy for taking them down.

Observant as he is, Kiineq has noticed the figure, however silently he may move. At the moment though, the figure doesn't seem to pose any threat, so Kiineq starts walking in the general direction pointed out by Shep.

Shep starts walking with Kiineq, but then stops and starts to turn around. There is something nagging at him in the back of his mind. Though he is not entirely sure what it is.

As one of the Jedi starts turning around, Kad knows that they are on to him. The only problem with Jedi are that deep connection with the Force. It bends at their command and offers them incredible strength, stamina and perception. Sneaking up on them is practically impossible but Kad reckons that he still has some element of surprise left.
Descending into a prone position, Kad draws his blaster. He aims it at the two Jedi, then raises it to fire high above them. The crimson discharge from his heavy blaster sears through the air and hits a large commercial sign somewhere above the plaza. With a shriek of bending metal, the sign, now with one of two connection girders severed, tips over and falls down toward the two Jedi.

Kiineq's green lightsaber is in his hand and activated, almost before Kad has aimed. He whips around to face in the direction of their attacker.
Feeling more than seeing the danger the sign poses, he jumps sideways to avoid it. At the same time he shouts to Shep: "Move!"

Shep lightsabre is in his hand almost as fast a Kiineqs but not quite. He throws himself out of the way of the sign, and rolls to his feet on the opposite side of were it lands to were Kiineq has ended up.

After seeing the two Jedi avoid the falling sign, Kad can tell who's the master and who's the padawan. One of them not only reacted faster, but also had time to warn the other. Kad will bet a whole barrel of ale on him being Master Tiran.
Taking advantages of this, Kad aims his blaster toward Shep and fires.

Counting on Shep being able to deflect the bolts fired at him, Kiineq starts crossing the plaza, closing the gap between them and Kad.
At the same time, he gathers the Force around him and uses it to send a nearby crate hurling towards Kad.

Shep smiles as he deflects the bolts without to much trouble. He relaxes into it and just lets the force control him.

Kad is forced to give up his assault on Shep. He rolls to avoid the crate and curses the Jedi's use of the Force. Now that the master is closing fast, Kad holsters his blaster and instead draws his sword. With a metallic growl he charges his opponent.

Kiineq calmly keeps walking, his lightsaber kept ready.
He quickly assets the situation. Their opponent is either very stupid, or knows what he was doing. Somehow, the latter seems the most likely.

When the attack on Shep stops, the boy straightens up from the position he has automaticly adopted while defending himself. Then he heads towards his Master and their attacker.

As Kad approaches Kiineq he reaches for his belt and finds a small cylinder. Bare moments before reaching the Jedi Master he throws it, but not at Kiineq. The small grenade flies in an arch above the Jedi and lands a few meters from Shep. Hoping that the Master's concern for his padawan is great enough to distract him for a second, Kad lunges forward with a downward slash.

Kiineq mentally keeps track of the grenade, as he prepares to meet Kad's blow. [Grenade!] he warns Shep, as the grenade flies over him, hopefully giving the Padawan enough time to react..
The tall man bends slightly in the knees as he brings his green blade up to meet the metal one. As soon as the blades connect, Kiineq extends his knees, pushing Kad's blade away. He counters with a strike towards Kad's side.

Shep notices the grenade flying towards him and starts moving away from it even before it lands. When it lands he throws himself forward and to the ground in order not to be hit by the blast.

Kad lets his blade mirror the moves of the Jedi Master. Parrying the attack to his side and locking the two blades together, he tries to head-butt Kiineq with his helmet.
As the grenade explodes, Kad is mostly shielded by Kiineq. However, he still feels the blast and the electronics in his helmet reduces the sound of the explosion.

Kiineq feels the shockwave of the grenade, but drawing on the Force, he manages to stand his ground.
He untangles his blade from Kad's as he moves his head out of the way. With a quick move, he moves it in a semi-circle over his head, ending in a strike towards Kad's other side.

As the Jedi swings his lightsaber upward, Kad, having a shorter sword, is able to perform the same semi-circle downward. He brings up his blade to counter Kiineqs attack on his other side. Pushing the Jedi's blade back up, Kad sidesteps underneath the two interlocked blades and emerges almost halfway around his opponent. Disengaging the master, he quickly covers the few meters to Shep and continues his assault on the padawan instead.

Kiineq turns as Kad sidesteps him, as to keep facing his opponent.
As Kad disengages, Kiineq gathers the Force around him again and sends it out in a powerful push against Kad's back. At the same time, he moves to close the distance between him and Shep, not stopping until he reaches the Padawan's side.

Shep ignites his lightsabre when he notices the attacker disengaging from Kiineq and brings the blade up to be ready to deflect which-ever attack comes his way. When Kiineq sends the force push Shep sidesteps to be out of the way in case their attacker falls.

Just as Kad is about to attack Shep, he is hit in the back by a strong push. He tumbles forward but is able to turn the fall into a roll. He rolls past Shep and manages to get all the way back up on his feet. He then turns to face the two Jedi.
Not ready to give up yet he adopts a defensive position, trying to taunt the Jedi into an attack.
"Surrender, and I'll make it quick and painless!"
