"Yet it prooves that even the most peaceful places in this galaxy are not safe in times like these..." Syll'kann sighs, letting a hand stroke his lekku. "What Varuun did to that young girl was unforgivable."

Chapaa'ai shakes his big, furry head.
[it is...it is...I doubt she will ever gain a normal life again. Forever she will be like this...her mind will never heal...] He looks out at the traffic. The incident with Sarré and her Master was painful to him. He had liked the Wookiee Master. To see one of his own species killed like that had hurt him. Badly.
[And now, Varuun has tried destroying lives again. Master Kian and his Padawan...]

Syll'kann seems to know what the Grand Jedi Master is thinking about. "I am sorry for your loss, Master Chapaa'ai. Master Kamirr was one of your race."
By the mention of Master Kian and Tianara, the elder Twi'lek's face cloudens. "I talked to Tianara in the Archives earlier today. She is deeply shocked. Not to blame her. She is lucky not to share the fate of Sarré. I haven't had the chance to see to Master Kian. How is he?"

Chapaa'ai strokes his braids.
[Better than we had hoped. He insists on attending the memorial we have planned...he seems to keep his spirits high, but I think he is more touched, than he is letting show. I believe he is trying to protect Tianara]

Who wouldn't be?
"He almost lost his life on Jandoon, paying for his survival with the loss of his legs. One way or another, it will mark him." That part Syll'kann understands, but the nature of the bonds developed between a Master and his Padawan is unfamiliar to him. Though, he knows of the bon between him and his own, late Master, there are still secrets of the connection through the Force between teacher and student that even he finds difficult to understand. Because he didn't take a Padawan himself. But that was never a consideration of his.

[Of course, of course] Chapaa'ai nods.
He seems lost in thoughts a while, then looks directly at Syll'kann again.
[Tianara? You said she seems shocked? Should something be done about it, Master Syll'kann?]

Syll'kann considers the Wookie's question for a while. "She should not be left alone with her thoughts for the time being," he finally answers. "Yet, I'm not sure if one of the Knights or a Master should take care of her. That would be inappropiate, since Master Kian is still alive."

[So, what do you propose, Master Syll'kann?] He hums lightly.
[she cannot be left alone, and yet, I am not certain Master Kian is strong enough to deal with her yet...]

"Is there someone else in the Temple who she feels close to or safe being around, besides her Master?" Syll'kann asks. "She must not feel that we are watching her. Though I think that she will find out anyway. She is not stupid."

[No, she most definitely is not] Chaapa'ai shakes his head, his voice a low rumbling.
[Someone she feels close to...?] He sighs, thinking.

"No, she seems to be a loner.." Sylll'kann agrees, twitching his lekku as he thinks the matter through. "Should I talk to her again, Master?"

Chapaa'ai nods slowly, looking at Syll'kann.
[Maybe you could at least find out, if she has any friends among the other Jedi at the temple?] He strokes his braids, then adds, in a low voice.

"I will, Master." Syll'kann nods. "True, she doesn't have many friends, but she is not disliked. I will figure something out."
By the mentioning of Sarré his lekku twitch mournfully. It is only known to few what happened to the young Padawan and even fewer is aware of the fat that Master Chapaa'ai is perhaps the only person, she can be around without ending up kicking and screaming like a Sith ghost. "How is she?"

Chapaa'ai shakes his head slowly, closing his large eyes for a few seconds.
[She will never be herself again. Always afraid, always scared....] He sighs, deeply.
[She does seem to remember me though, which is nice. I was thinking of bringing Jibev, my nephew's son. He's small and that might appeal to her...] He looks thoughtful.

The young Padawan was kept in the Healers' protective wings at the Temple. Syll'kann had visited her himself, once. Only once. Many people feels safe around him, but not Sarré. She had panicked by the very sight of him.
"Master Kamirr was of your race, Master." He nods. "Perhaps she will feel more safe around Wookies, even an unfamiliar Wookie. But I can't say that for sure. She is - unpredictable."

Chapaa'ai nods slowly.
[It is so hard to tell with her. Some days are better than others. Perhaps, if she is having a good day, next time I see her, I shall send for Jibev...] He looks out in the distance, sighing heavily. Then he strokes his beard, looking thoughtful.
Then he shakes his head.

"Maybe you should, Master," Syll'kann replies to the Wookie Master's suggestion and for a minute follows the Wookie's glance out in the distance. Then his midnightblue eyes turns back to the elder Jedi Master. "Are there really nothing more, we can do? Is it true that even the Healers are powerless to help this young Padawan?"

Chapaa'ai shakes his head.
[we might try our best to better her symptoms and panick attacks - but we cannot restore what Varuun Carro stole from her. Not even Jedi Healers are capable of restoring lost brain matter...] he shakes his head.

Syll'kann sighs deeply, clenching his hand together, then unclenching them again, as he feels an unwanted helplessness filling his mind. "So we have lost another Padawan to the Fallen - in a way," he says. "I wish that Master Rina was still amongst us."

Chapaa'ai nods slowly.
he shakes his head again.
[these are indeed troubled times...Now you mention Master Rina...her Padawan, Sinnda, she still needs a Master. I was considering Master Bricyl. Do you think that would be a wise pairing?]

"Master Bricyl, you say..." Syll'kann lets a hand stroke down one of his lekku, looking thoughtfully. "She is not Master Rina. But who can ever claim to be like her?" He smiles sadly. "Sinn'da has spirit. Perhaps her spirit will calm in Master Bricyl's presence. But what of the Padawan's passion for light saber combat? Master Bricyl is a skilled fighter, but will she be able to handle Sinn'da on that matter? She sees her lightsaber as the last resort, as we all do. Will Sinn'da share that oppinion, or will she get frustrated?"
The elder Twi'lek's eyes darkens a bit, when he recalls another case from the past. "I still remember Keith Flare."

[it will be up to Master Bricyl, to find the right balance between encouraging her, and holding her down] Chapaa'ai strokes his braids.
[Or do you have another proposal as to who might become her new Master?]

"No, Master, I do not," Syll'kann answers. "Master Bricyl would be a wise choice. And Sinn'da is not like Flare."
Yet we didn't see it coming, when Flare began turning...
Syll'kann pushes the thought away. "I am only saying that we should be mindful of this young Padawan. Her skills are not to be underestimated. I don't want to see another Padawan murder her Master and turned into a Fallen."

Chapaa'ai shakes his big, furry head.
[Neither do I, Master Syll'kann...I too, remember Flare. What a loss. He had a bright future in front of him...too many young padawans have fallen in the last years. Alkara too] He looks out of the window.
[No, Sinn'da is going to have a much brighter future. I will do anything in my power to ensure that]

"Alkara. I remember her, too." Syll'kann follows the Wookie's eyes out of the window. "It feels like the Dark Side is clouding all of our Padawan's futures. As if evil itself will drain us of the young ones to carry on training Jedi." His lekku twitch. "I will not allow that to happen."

[if that happens, then, we have indeed lost the war...] Chapaa'ai nods.
[However, we still have some promising young ones among us. We must protect them, guide them. Do our best to keep them safe. Young ones, such as Sinn'da herself] His fur ripples slightly.
[that is why we must be careful when choosing her new Master]

Master Chapaa'ai sighs heavily.
[the problem is, Master Syll'kann, we do not have that many Masters to spare. I would have recommended Ichys, but Track Faolan is not yet knighted....]
He shakes his head.
[Then, there is Master Mir, but she has recently been assigned to the Chu'Unthor, and I think it is unwise to tie Sinn'da to the ship...]

"Indeed, we are put to the limit in many ways," Syll'kann leans back in the chair. "No, if we are to keep on eye on her for the moment, putting Sinn'da on the Chu'Unthor would be unwise."
Though Ladda would be good company for her..
"On the other hand we must not push the Masters. To train a Padawan is not like building a star cruiser. You cannot - must not - speed up the process."

[That is also true, and I do not think Track is yet ready to be knighted...] Chapaa'ai waits, as if awaiting Syll'kann's oppinion on the matter.
[And even if he were, I am not sure Master Ichys would accept a new padawan right away...]
