Syll'kann walks down the hall way in the living quarters at the Jedi Temple. His own room is not very far from where he's going, but he's not going to his own room. He has a meeting with Chapaa'ai, before he can rest his knee after a long day with a lot of stairclimping. Yes, he knows, he promised Ladda to take care... Besides he didn't push himself that much.
He stops in front of a door and knocks silently.

[Enter]
The calm voice from inside the room is deep and dark, but still friendly. Besides, considering how big a Wookiee Chapaa'ai is, it's no wonder his voice is so rumbling.

Syll'kann opens the door and takes one step inside the room.
"Master Chapaa'ai, I'm here at your request." The tall Twi'lek bows respectfully, but remembering not to put his full weight on his wounded knee.

Chapaa'ai is sitting on an almost oversized "meditation pillow", facing the door.
Chapaa'ai bows his head slightly.
[please, close the door and take a seat]

"Thank you, Master." Syll'kann closes the door behind him and sits down in a chair near the Wookie's meditation. Due to his knee injury he isn't able to kneel - and manage to get to his feet again. The chair is wookie-sized, but that doesn't bother him. He leans slightly forward to look at the Wookie Jedi Master, awaiting him to speak.

Chapaa'ai takes a long time to look at the other Master, tilting his big, furry head slightly. He nods once to Syll'kan, then rests his almost oversized paws in his lap, growling lowly.
[Master Syll'kann, it is good to see you once again]

"It is good to see you, too, Master Chapaa'ai." Syll'kann bows his head respectfully, but smiling at the other Jedi Master. He has always found the company of the old wookie to be a great comfort in dark times like these. Master Chapaa'ai seems like an old tree, refusing to bow against the rising storm. His lekku shake a bit, reminding him to be present. "You wanted to see me for a reason, Master Chapaa'ai?" he asks politely. "I'm at your service, whatever the task may be."

Chapaa'ai nods slowly, and looks at Syll'kann. Then, he nods again, and looks out of the window, his eyes following the Coruscant night traffic.
he growls deep and slowly.
it as a bit hard to hear, whether it is a statement, or actaully a question. But, surely, Master Chapaa'ai must know whether or not he has asked Syll'kann to visit?

Syll'kann slowly nods. "That you did, Master."
He shows no sign of either confusion or disbelieve by the Wookie Master's words. Instead he awaits a response.

Chapaa'ai nods slowly again, gently stroking his braids while looking out of the window.
[that I did]
He turns his head, and looks at Syll'kann. For a few minutes, the big Wookiee is completely silent.
But still he gives no reason as to why he has summoned him.

"Thank you, Master Chapa'ai." Syll'kann smiles at the Jedi Master. He finds himself not half as wise as the Wookie Master, so he is honoured by Chapa'ai's words. But that still doesn't explain why he has been summoned....
"Master? May I ask for what reason I have been summoned?"

Chapaa'ai nods and bares his teeth in a big smile.
[yes, yes, of course you may] He strokes his braids again.
[Though, I thought I mentioned it, when I summoned you?]

"Not excactly, no." Syll'kann shakes his head a bit, feeling his lekku twitching. "But I was under the impression that we were to discuss what the Republic will do about this threat? And what action will the Order take?"

Chapaa'ai's dark eyes light up with a sudden happiness.
[yes, you are right, Master Syll'kann that is indeed why I summoned you. You know this Drashk quite well, as far as I remember, so I thought you to be one of the better Masters to consult] He nods slowly.

Syll'kann's nods matches the Wookie Masters. "That I do, Master." His long lekku twitches a little, as if recalling something uncomfortable. "But it has been a while, I must admit."
Over 20 years, to be more excact.

Chapaa'ai nods slowly.
[yes, yes...of course...] he growls deeply, but without really saying anything. More like a "I'm thinking" sound. He falls completely silent for a few minutes.
[Have I mentioned Derek, in one of our earlier talks?]

Syll'kann doesn't answer immediately, though the name doesn't ring any bell in his head. But sometimes he saves that kind of information deep in his memory for later use.
"No, Master. You haven't," he answers. "Who is he?"

Chaapa'ai nods slowly again.
[he's a young human. Left the order a few years back. He has often helped us in small affairs. Knight Naitia has been sent to Nal Hutta to find him and bring him to the council...]

Syll'kann remains silent for a while, searching in his memory for the list of Jedis leaving the Order the last 30 years. There was a Derek on that list.
"What are the council's plans with this young human?" he asks.
Syll'kann doesn't question this Derek's loyalty. To him people are to be trusted, until proven otherwise. Which has caused him a lot of trouble through his life. But he doesn't intend to change his oppinion.

Chapaa'ai looks slightly...disturbed? Uneasy? He turns his large, dark eyes towards Syll'kann chirping quietly.
[it is not an easy task. We can only hope he will accept it. We want him to act as a spy...]

"A spy." Syll'kann feels his lekku twitching. "You will use him to infiltrate the Fallen Jedi?"
If so, the task is anything but easy.

[if he accepts it, then yes...] Chapaa'ai suddenly looks tired. Very old, and very tired.
[it as not an easy task, and it is dangerous. I am aware of that. That is why he himself must choose whether or not to help us. However, if succesful, he could be of great help to us]

Syll'kann nods slowly, considering the other Jedi Master's words. "One from the Order would be caught at once. You had to choose someone from outside."
There can be some ethical questions raised against sending a person from outside the Order undercover to be eyes and ears for them in a cause which isn't his. Syll'kann will think about that later.
"These are strange times. They call for untraditional methodes."

Chapaa'ai nods slowly.
he growls tiredly [However, Master Yoda and I have agreed this is by far the best way to get to know anything about what is going on on that planet...] His eyes look out in the distance, and he shakes his head, stroking his long braids.
[We both know, what these beings are capable off...Drashk...Varuun...these are not to be underestimated...]

Syll'kann's rests on his crippled knee, but he's not even noticing it. "I'm not the one to question your decisions, Master. It is a dangerous task. But you're right. We need information. And we need it desperately."

[Oh, but I didn't say you were questioning my decisions, Master Syll'kann] Chapaa'ai bares his teeth in an enormous smile.
[Only that we share the same concerns...but Drashk and Varuun must be stopped...You know Drashk's actions and capabilities all too well...]

"That I do, Master." Syll'kann nods solemnly. He had known the Shistavan in the Temple, before Drashk had turned to a Fallen. And after all, he was the one who had crippled Syll'kann for life. But all that was familiar to Master Chapaa'ai, so Syll'kann remained silent, only letting himself remember the past. "I would happily give my own life to make sure that the two of them are stopped forever." His lekku twitch as if in a human shrug. "But I'm afraid that the only support I can offer, is my knowledge. I'm no warriror, not anymore."

[Nor am I, Master Syll'kann] The wookiee sighs heavily.
[though I wish I could join in the fight. Those two - and the rest of their group, but those in particular - have destroyed the life of too many jedi] He shakes his big, furry head.
[Do you remember Sarré and her Master?] He's big, sorrowful eyes look at the Twi'lek Master.

Syll'kann nods. What happened to that young Padawan and her Master took place more than 3 years ago... but some things are not easily forgotten.
"Yes, Master." He nods slowly, for a moment lost in his memories of that day. "I do remember. They were attacked on Alderaan, wasn't it?"

Chapaa'ai nods, his fur rippling a bit.
[indeed....we never thought such a horribæe thing could take place on a peaceful planet as Alderaan...and yet, it did] He sighs deeply.
[Varuun Carro is a living proof Anzats should not be Jedi...]
