Leyla enters one of the training rooms and sees that Thea hasn't arrived yet.
She takes a look around in the room and finds the training lightsabers hanging on the wall at the far end of the room. She walks over there and takes one of them down.
She hadn't used her own lightsaber for training in some years. But it's best to keep the training up to date.
She ignites the borrowed lightsaber and presses button that starts the training laserball's sequence, steps out in the middle of the room and waits.
All of a sudden a training ball flies out in front of her, and starts to shoot with lasers. She swings the training saber in circles, using her right hand to handle the hilt.
As she shields herself from the laserbolts, she twists and turns her body, as she was taught so long ago by Na'tok. In some cases, you would have to jump away, if you were fighting closeup against another. But for this, it wouldn't be so appropriate.
She turns off the lightsaber, and the ball flies off out of the way. It was a good warm up, till she was about to train a students.

Thea half runs down the hall. She doesn't want to be late to lightsaber training with Leyla. She always looked forward to this class above all others as Leyla was her favorite teacher. She really admired the Master's calm nature and easy grace. Slowing to catch her breath, Thea took a moment to center herself outside the door to the training room before carefully entering.
"Hello, Master Mir."

Leyla smiles as she sees Thea entering the room.
"Welcome, Thea!" She walks over to the wall with the training sabers and takes another one down.
She turns towards Thea holds out the saber and lets it levitate a few inches over her hand, as to incourage her to use the Force herself to reach out and recall it.
"Are you ready for today's lesson?" She smiles at the Younging.

Thea smiles back at Leyla. She loved how the Master encouraged her to use the Force for even the basic tasks of a lesson. "I'm ready, Master." Thea stretches out her hand and reaches for the lightsaber. It wobbles slightly then slowly glides towards her. Thea catches it carefully and smiles back at the Master.
"I have been practicing everyday!"

As soon as she can sense that Thea has a hold in the lightsaber, Leyla lets go of her own grap of it.
"Sounds good. Let me see what you've accomplished."
Once again, Leyla presses the button that starts the training sequence, folds her hands in front of her, and watches as the ball flies out towards Thea.
"Remember to concentrate."

Thea ignites the lightsaber cautiously. This was always the hardest part for her. The bruises on her legs from her practice with a stick still throbbed a little and she knew that the lightsaber blade could do more than bruise her if she hit herself this time. The probes first couple of shots are in front of her and she moves carefully to block them but as it swings to the side she stops short, attempting not to hit herself with her own blade and misses the shot which hits her hip instead.

"As I said, concentrate. Let go of your emotions on past failures with the lightsaber. Don't think about what the laser can do tp you. Keep your focus on the ball, and let the Force guide you."
She's calm and smiles.

Thea takes a deep breath and tries again. She closes her eyes and feels for the probe. Once again she sucessfully blocks the shots coming at her from the front. She spins the lightsaber to block the first to the side and gets it but also slices through the side of her boot.

"Much better, Thea!"
Leyla walks a little closer to her.
"But in a duel or a battle it is also important to remember to make sure, you won't get hit by the enemy. You need to combine your lightsaber training with your physical excercises."

Thea nods carefully, then checks her boot. "It can be fixed," she thinks.
"Ok, Can I try again?"
She takes a breath and looks at her teacher for approval.

Leyla looks at Thea with a curious expression.
"Of course, Thea. But remember what Master Yoda always says. It's not about trying. It's about doing it as good as you can."
She smiles and takes a step back again.
"See the saber in your hands as the weapon it's replicating. See it, as a dangerous and powerful weapon, but that you're in control of it."

Thea nods, "I'm sorry, Master. I will do my best."
She squares off against the probe again and taking a breath to center herself she reignites the lightsaber. This time as the probe swings alongside her, she turns her whole body a little and flicks her wrist out slightly. She blocks the probe's shot and manages to not hit herself. Amazed, she jumps with glee.
"I did it! I didn't hit myself! I've never been able to do that before!"

"Well done, Thea!" Leyla smiles warmly at the young girl.
"Try again, and this time for a little longer."

Thea smiles back happily.
"Yes, Master."
She takes a breath clears her mind and focuses on the probe with new-found confidence. She begins again concentrating on using her whole body to deflect the probe's shots. In the back of her mind flits the happy thought, "maybe someone will want me for a padawan after all!"

Leyla watches how Thea blocks the shots, but she also detects the happy thought in her mind.
Fear of not being chosen, wasn't a good thing. She hadn't herself had any worries about that, since Na'tok chose her, as soon as she was ready. Nor has she seen other Younglings not being chosen
She lets Thea train for another ten minutes, pressing the button again and stops the sequence. She smiles at Thea, as she approaches her.
"You are improving, Thea. That is good to see." She stops as she stands next to Thea.

Thea retracts the lightsaber blade and smiles up at Leyla. She feels energized from the exercise.
"Thank you Master Mir. I really like having classes with you. I will keep practicing hard, promise."

Leyla nodds and smiles at her.
"Sounds good. Of course, when it is time to build your own lightsaber, it will be different. It will be the real thing and more advanced training."
She sighs a little and crosses her arms in front of her chest. "You don't have to fear, about your lightsaber training. Not all Jedi are good at it. You are not the only one."
She looks at Thea closely, before she continues. "How are you doing in the other classes?"

Thea nods. "Thank you Master Mir. I believe I am doing alright in my other classes. Master Yoda told me my discipline is commendable at least. And I don't have trouble moving things or recognizing people through the Force - if I am concentrating. But I am clumbsy and that has caused some problems." She looks up at the Master, wondering why she is asking.

Leyla noods.
"Clumbsyness can be handled. That's why I am here to help you." She smiles.
"I am only asking, because of curiousity. To keep me up to date on how you are outside of my class."

Leyla nodds.
"I know you will. And as for you feeling clumbsy with your lightsaber training."
She frees her arms from their crossed position, and moves her right hand down to her belt, and frees her real lightsaber from there and shows it to Thea, without igniting it.
It's silver covered with black rubber lines at the end, and some black coloured symbols painted into the surface, near the end, where the blade comes out.
"You might feel clumbsy now. But the more you train, you'll get better. But when you have your own in your hands for the first time, you know that, that old feeling of clumbsyness will be gone, Because you can't afford to be clumbsy with a weapon like this."

Thea looks entranced at Leyla's lightsaber. She loved seeing the elegance and individuality of the masters' sabers though most did not show them so willingly. She takes in the simpleness of the lines and the grace of the weapon, then smiles up at Leyla. "It is beautiful Master. I will do my best to not let you down."

"I know you will, Thea!"
She smiles at Thea, as she attatches the lightsaber in her belt again.
"Now. if there isn't anything else, I think that will be enogh for today. We'll continue again in the next class."

"There isn't, Master. Thank you."
Thea bows slightly to Leyla and walks calmly over to the wall to put the training lightsaber away. Then bowing once more leaves the classroom and heads back to her quarters to mend her boot before someone else notices the tear.

Leyla bows her head back at Thea and smiles as she leaves the room.
She hangs her own borrowed training saber back at the wall. She sighs, as she takes her real lightsaber in her hand again and just looks at it.
Thea had said it was beautiful. Leyla herself hadn't seen it as beautiful, but a some kind of close connection to it. Which, as Na'tok had explained it to her once, all Jedi had with their personal lightsaber, because of the time and the effort it had taken for them to assemble it.
Leyla shakes her head and attatches the hilt back in the belt. She hadn't used it for any kind of use, since Master Yoda gave it back to her. As she had said to Thea. This was a weapon you couldn't afford to be clumbsy with. Neither just play around with. There for it's best to use training sabers.
As she turns out the lights, she smiles at the thought of the lesson she'd just had. She also enjoyed teaching Thea, as Thea apparently enjoyed having her class. She was a potential strong Jedi, who needed to work around her nervousness. Maybe that would take care of her clumbsyness.
She takes a final look in the room, before she turns the last light off and closes the door behind her.
