The sun is setting on Coruscant, painting the skyline black and the horizon behind it bloody red. Soon the night would conquer this half of the planet city.
Syll'kann was sitting in front of one of the more isolated terminals in the Archives - a spot he was known for chosing, whenever it was free. Here he was able study in peace, but not completely cut off from the living world. But right now he needed some discretion while doing his work.
All right... According to the girl, Tianara, there had been an Anzat among the Fallen, who had attacked them. From what Syll'kann knew about them, they were very rare in the Order, and he himself couldn't remember, if there had been an Anzat Jedi the last 10 years. But he was just one man. So let's start with the Anzat.
His long fingers danced over the keyboard in front of him. Let's try to be simple...
The words 'Fallen Jedis, Anzat' emerges on the screen, and Syll'kann presses 'search'.

The search only delivers one result: "Varuun Carro". The first few lines state that Varuun Carro was officially added to the list of Fallen Jedi, at the age of 145. The journal furthermore lets Syll'kann know that Varuun is 211 years now, so he has been fallen for quite some time. There's a link provided to give the reader more detailed information about the Anzat.

Syll'kann frowns, and he taps one finger on his lips. Only one hit in the search. One. Guess the Council didn't want to try that again... Knowing what the Anzats were able to do, he couldn't really blame them for that decision. But could this be the same Anzat, Master Kian and Tianara had encountered? He was the only hit on the list, but the Archives could have... (some would have called this 'blasphemy' just to think of this oppotunity) been tampered with. But right now, this Anzat had Syll'kanns ful attention.
He chooses to click on the link to find out more about Varruun Carro.

There's a full personal file on Varuun Carro, describing how the Jedi had chosen to train him, despite the negative reputation of his race. They new there had been fruitless attemps at training Anzats before, but Varuun's midichlorian count was very high, even for his race, and they decided it would be more dangerous to let him go without training. It was agreed that with the proper training, they would be able to surpress his Anzati nature. They were wrong. When Varuun reached puberty, his thirst for the soup awoke.
And there ends the first "Chapter" of the journal.

Syll'kann leans back in his chair, thinking of what he just read. There isn't really much to think about. Some races are ideal to become Jedi, some are not. And the Anzati... No wonder, the Council never tried that stunt again.
As he leans forward again, Syll'kann enters the next 'chapter' of the journal.

It appears that Varuun was a formidable student, in his first years at the Temple, and for a long time it was assumed that the Jedi had indeed been able to surpress his Anzati nature. Yoda was appointed to be his Master, as the Anzati were a longlived people, it was thought best that he was taught be someone with a long lifespan, so that they could study together for a long time. Varuun showed great talent, and managed to get appointed both rank of Knight and Master, before things went wrong. When Varuun turned 100, the council had watched him carefully, as they knew that was the time considered to be the "puberty" of Anzats, and their thirst for soup awoke. However, Varuun was able to surpress the thirst (or hide it) for more than twenty years. Though he had become more aggresiv and impatient in the later years, he had never shown any signs of really wanting to hurt anyone. Untill one day.

Syll'kann can't quite reject the feeling of a very cold shiver running down his spine. He had expected things to be bad. Anzati Fallen Jedis was not a subject discussed across the dinner table in the evening. Syll'kann had to admit that a race able to suck out your brain through yuor nostrils made his stomach tighten a bit. Perhaps Master Kian should consider himself happy to have gotten away, only losing his legs.
He tries to acces more information about Varruun Carro's 'fall'.

It would appear that the there were two reports on incidents, in which the council greatly suspected that Varuun had intended to soup someone - but he had not yet started on the action itself in neither cases, and therefore, there were no solid proof that he was turning down a forbidden path. However, the journal contains several statements from various masters and knights alike, that they were starting to become concerned. Varuun was just the jedi he'd used to be. It was common knowledge, that there was one Master in particular that Varuun got along with poorly. A human Master, who's name is not mentioned in the journal. One morning, the Master was found dead in his room. It was clear, that Varuun had souped him. Especially because of the note left behind.
"Got him. I'm leaving"
Varuun took his lightsaber with the characteristic white blade with him, when he left, and was consided Fallen from that day. He was 145 years old then.

Once again, Syll'kann leans back in his chair, memorizing all the important things about the Anzati Fallen Jedi, he has found. These were troubling news, indeed. Did Master Chapaa'ai know of this?? Note to self, ask him sometime...
Syll'kann reads the last line in the journal again. Well, if Master Kian or Tianara could remember the colour of the Fallen Jedi's lightsaber, the Anzat would be easy to identify. That is, if he was still using his whitebladed weapon.
After his memorizing Syll'kann leans forward, trying to find out more about Varuun. Last known whereabouts, other Jedis related to him... anything.

Little is known of Varuun's whereabouts in the more than fifty years that have passed, since he left the order. He has been spotted on several occasions, but no one has ever managed to catch him. Mostly he's been on his own, when he's been spotted, but there has been occasions in which he's had companionship. It is assumed that those people have been victims, though not all of them have been confirmed as such. Over a couple of months, security cameras have detected Varuun in the companionship of a young girl, but that is at least two years ago now. Actually, nothing has been heard from Varuun Carro for almost 1½ years, and his current location is unknown. Varuun has been known to work as an assasin on several occasion after he left the order. There's a headshot of the young girl, and a link leading to a journal of her own.
There's a personal note from Yoda, ending Varuun's journal.
"Doubts about this student, I had. Still, to try, we decided. For years, good things went, but still, uncertain I was. Warning me, the Force was. Listen I did not. Regret that, I do"

A personal note from Master Yoda...
Through all his years of studying the Archives, Syll'kann had rarely come across a note from the Jedi Master. The elder Twi'lek raised his eyebrows, before continuing his search. All information about Varruun Carro he memorizes and transfer to a datacard, just to be sure. Then he chooses to look at the journal of the girl that Varruun had been spotted with.

The link leads him to a journal with the name Alkara Suati. There's an image of her, but it looks older, than the one with Varuun. This one shows her at around the age of 16-17, but her look hasn't changed much. She wears totally black clothes on both pictures, and there's a dark, grim look in her eyes. The journal says that Alkara left the order at the age of 17, after killing a fellow student in a duel.

One more Fallen Jedi. They seem to be moving in packs....?
Syll'kann transfers the girl's journal, too, and for a moment he just sits still, looking at the screen in front of him. His knee is aching. Really aching. He can't tell, if it's gotten worse. Maybe it's just the memories..
As if the pain from his knee makes him think of something, he tries a new search. Varruun left the Order many years ago, but others had fallen, too, in the time passed. They could have teamed up with him. "Fallen Jedi, last 50 years."

A rather impressive list shows up on the screen. It appears that a high number of Jedi have Fallen in the last few years. It would appear that if all these people have ganged up, the Jedi Order might be in trouble. For real. Some of the names, only has small journals attached to them, others long stories such as Varuun. Some Jedi were not heard from or spotted after they left the order, some haven't been seen in years. Other names spring into attention, as a little mark indicates there's a whole journal on them.
-Derek Arnau
-Alkara Suati
-Keith Flare
-Drashk Raah
-Sarnar Chokel
-and of course Varuun Carro himself

Ah. Yes.
This time Syll'kann leans back for quite q while, looking at the list. Especially one name in particular. He is not surprised to find it there, not at all. But for a moment, his mind flows with memories, going twenty years back.
Syll'kann closes his eyes and rests a hand on his knee, as if trying to calm it and make the pain go away.
Then he lets it all go. True, Drashk Rahr had crippled him more than twenty years ago. Forever ruined Syll'kann's chance to walk normal again. To run. To fight. His entire life in active duty. Back then Syll'kann remembered his anger. But that was all long gone. What good would revenge do him?? Not getting his knee back, that was for sure. Revenge was no good. Nothing good ever came from acting in hate and anger. He had promised himself, twenty years ago, not to make it personal. And he would hold on to that promise.
He begins looking through the journals to see if any of the Fallen are somehow related to Varruun Carro or Jandoon. Maybe the Force is with me...

The only real link is that between Alkara and Varuun. It appears they have been spotted together on several occasions and several planets over a course of at least half a year. At one time it is certain they have committed a murder together, probably to collect a bounty of some sort. It is unknown how they ended up together, or how and when they parted ways again, but the journal says there were indications that they got along well.
The only other thing of real interest, counting as a link, as a note saying that it is strongly believed that Drashk is connected to the Jandoon crisis, as he, along with Varuun is considered one of the most dangerous Fallen Jedi in the last 50 years.

Syll'kann's lekku twitch a little down his back. He puts a hand on one of them, as if trying to calm 'it'. He has seen enough of this.
He puts his hands on the table top and pushes himself up from the chair. The pain from his knee draws his attention more persistent this time. Remembering bad things, hm?
Syll'kann stops a sigh from reaching his lips.
The tall Twi'lek turns off the terminal, terminating any traces of his search. He picks up hsi datapad and let it slip into one of his robe's hidden pockets, before he limps out of the Archives, now looking for Master Chapaa'ai.
